Video After The Jump

By now most of you have probably seen or at least heard about the Sharkeisha fight video. In the one and a half minute clip a 17-year old Houston girl named Shamichael Manuel is sucker punched and kicked by 16-year old Sharkeisha (Sharkeysha), who believes her former friend was trying to steal her boyfriend.

The video has now gone viral and has racked up millions of online views. The internet has gone nuts with gifs and meme photos, making Sharkeisha famous worldwide.

12350493659?profile=original

Most of the jokes center around the fact that someone actually put "shark" in their daughter's name. Meanwhile the victim has been left battered, bruised and humiliated.

“I was just in shock. I was like oh my God. Did she really do this? You’re supposed to be my close friend,” Manuel told KHOU“We were talking in school earlier that day. She made it seem like there was nothing wrong with her. It is hurting and crushing to me. I felt humiliated and embarrassed and hurt at the same time."

Manuel's mother, Olevia Henderson, has attempted to get the video yanked from the internet, but that is pretty much an impossible task.

Olevia Henderson

“The video’s just going and going. They’re making jokes, and they’re taunting. They’re glorifying the girl Sharkeysha, but they’re taunting my daughter at the same time,” said Henderson. “I was in the grocery store, and the girl was checking out my groceries. The baggers were just laughing and talking about it. I said that’s my daughter in that video, and their whole expression changed,"

On today's episode of Hot 97's The Realness, Peter Rosenberg and Ebro wonder if the video and all of the hoopla surrounding it is funny or offensive?

What do you think? Take our poll and sound off in the comment section below.

Video After The Jump

STAR talks people protesting (Police) in New Mexico over shooting at SUV, Shaquille O'Neal becoming minority owner of the Sacramento Kings and the new fad in Great Britain -- Dogging.

Radio legend Troi Torain (STAR) always delivers hard-hitting objective truth. As a culture critic he is vicious, as a businessman he is relentless, as a luminary he is un-matched.

12349990084?profile=original

Considered a radio pioneer by many, STAR has set precedents on the urban landscape and was recently inducted into News One's "Top 20 Black Radio Jockeys Of All Time."

STAR & BUC WILD made the national stage on MTV (1999) but it was their radio show on New York's Hot 97 and Power 105 (2000 - 2006) that secured their place in Hip-Hop history.

Torain's resume includes The Source magazine, MTV Networks, Hot 97, Power 104.1, Power 105.1, Pulse 87, Hip-Hop Weekly magazine, Vladtv, Thisis50, 100.3 The Beat, shot97.com and VH1 (The Gossip Game).

This clip is from STAR's LIVE show (12noon -- 2pm) on http://shot97.com.

TMZ obtained video of the fiery crash that killed Paul Walker and his friend Roger Rodas on Saturday (November 30). The security camera footage was shot from the roof of an industrial park next to the crash site.

Investigators are looking into whether Roger was racing another vehicle, or if another car caused his 2005 Porsche Carrera GT to veer off of the road.

"Naturally, from an investigative standpoint, we need to find out if that is one of the issues,Los Angeles County Sheriff's Sgt. Richard Cohen told CNN.

Walker was filming the seventh installment of the highly successful Fast and the Furious movie franchise at the time of his death.

Universal and director James Wan have decided to move forward with filming the project, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The bulk of the film has already been shot. The movie is scheduled to hit theaters on July 11, 2014.

A rivalry between two Colombian gangs erupted in a shooting massacre at a nightclub. A trio of gunmen entered the Barra la 44 club in Cali and opened fire on club goers, who just minutes earlier had been dancing.

12350487699?profile=original

The shooting lasted 20-minutes. A few people can be seen running from the club as bullets fly. One man collapses in the street, while a woman ducks her head as a gunman fires just a feet from her. A total of eight people were killed and five seriously wounded.

12350488481?profile=original

The CCTV footage from the November 8th shooting was recently released. The three gunman have been arrested, according to the New York Daily News.

12350488667?profile=original

An ongoing war between two gangs, La 39 and La 40, was to blame for the massacre.

Pharrell Williams lands on the cover of Complex's Best of 2013 Month. The super producer/rapper talks to Joe La Puma about Kanye's West's "rock star" quote, reinventing himself, fashion looks he regrets and more.

12350485892?profile=original

How important is it to you to constantly reinvent yourself?

I try to do it every day. We all evolve. That’s not specific to me. It’s something I don’t fight—like, “Oh well, that might be too much.” And then you look up and a dude walks past and he’s done it. The universe is going to continue to evolve, and the ultimate feat in that experience is the perspective of awareness. It’s only when you deny yourself those gut feelings that the universe taps you on the shoulder like, “Yo, told you…."

People do reinvent themselves, but your reinvention seems so methodical.
It’s totally not. I just listen. I watch the signs and I listen. Other than that, this is not engineered—maybe by God, maybe by the universe, but not me. I was having a conversation with Justin Bieber about zodiac signs, and he was like, “I don’t get it. I don’t get why just because I’m a Pisces it means that all Pisces think like me?” And I said, “The zodiac signs only tell you what your tendencies may be, but if you look, most of them are there.” He was like, “So this person is a Gemini, and they complain about getting up in the morning, too.” And I was like, “It’s a little more subtle than that.”

I used to say, “I’m super lucky.” Teddy Riley built his studio five minutes from my high school, and now when I go to New York I’m like, “Who the fuck goes to Virginia?” I know who goes to Virginia. He went to Virginia, and he went for a specific reason. I’m not going to say what that reason is for me. But I know I was meant to be affected by his decision. So I know it wasn’t an accident and it wasn’t a mistake. He built a studio a five-minute walk from me. I could be completely wrong. God could be upstairs high-fiving E.T. and Tupac and they’re all laughing at it with a drink in their hands. But you asked me that question, now I’m going to ask you: Do you think there’s a method?

Kanye had an interview where he said, “Hip-hop artists are the new rock stars.” Do you agree with that?
Jimmy Iovine said it first. He said Dre is the Jimi Hendrix of hip-hop. He heard N.W.A. and he didn’t understand what the fuck he was listening to. He thought it was the most radical, punk, rock-star-minded shit ever. It was bigger than punk, because punk was always too cool to ever become huge, but rock ’n’ roll, the entire genre did rise to the occasion of being big.

You had green hair, and a sort of hip-hop grunge thing going on at one time. Are there any looks you regret?
That’s a funny question. Often I see people going crazy over people who wear furs. And just recently I tried on something from Moncler. This crazy jacket. And I regret it because I sympathize with the people who are animal activists. I sympathize with their movement and I recognize that people could be impressionable. But at the same time, I like fashion. And I don’t like being told what to do. I especially don’t like people who judge because those people who sit around like they’re purists on every level, I’m sure you can find a sin there somewhere. Don’t point the finger. Like, I hope there’s nothing leather in your whole entire house. And if there isn’t, that’s cool, but what about what you’re driving? Oh, you’re not putting any emissions in the air? Oh, OK, cool. Alright, so are you feeding any people? What are you doing with your life? So, while I sympathize with their movement, I’ma take on a challenge.

To read the full interview head over to Complex.

Wu Tang Clan super producer RZA releases a new track titled "Destiny Blends" featuring Will Wells dedicated to Paul Walker. Listen to the song up top and read RZA's statement below.

This song, entitled "Destiny Bends" was written last night after hearing the tragic news of the loss of a good man named Paul Walker. I met Paul on the set of the film Brick Mansion, where we talked, laughed, and exchanged ideas of life and fatherhood. I only knew him personally for less than a year, but we knew each other through our work and art. We saw in each other a kindred spirit of men coming from unlikely circumstances, and rising to be the light and beacon of our family and loved ones. Men who learned the joy and pains of love in life, and success, while coming to realize that nothing is more important than family, friendship, and the brotherhood of humanity. Millions of people get to know an artist or movie star through their work, but few are allowed to cross each others' paths and see through the veil of stardom and find the common denominator that we share. As all physical things will decay and wither away, film, art, and music remain longer than the vessel that delivered them. In this vein, the one thing we can't take away or give back is time. So, thus, time is the most precious gift. I dedicated my time to compose this song with my two sons and new friend Will Wells, who was kind enough to sing and perform it for me. We dedicate it to Paul Walker. A good man. We had plans to continue working with each other in the future. It seemed destined, but "destiny bends".

*Note* This song is not for criticism, it's just a sketch demo. Please enjoy and reflect.

Your comrade in the struggle,
RZA

Regards.
