Wiz Khalifa is taking the label that has been his recording home since 2005 to court in an attempt to free himself from a contract that he feels has taken advantage of him.

Billboard reports that the lawsuit filed Tuesday, May 31, in Los Angeles Superior Court accuses Rostrum Records and Wiz's former manager Benjy Grinberg of profiting from "virtually every aspect of plaintiff's professional life" for more than a decade, and entered a "series of other transactions, all in further violation of the rule against self dealing."

12352157262?profile=original

Wiz's relationship with Grinberg and Rostrum began in 2004 when he was 16. He entered into a verbal agreement that allowed them to manage his career.

In 2005 the Taylor Gang boss signed a 360 deal with the label that called for one album and five options for additional albums. The rapper says his 2016 album titled "Khalifa" fulfilled his obligation to the label.

The lawsuit alleges that Rostrum and Grinberg made significant profits with each release and along the way cut deals with Warner Bros. Records and Atlantic Records for his recordings while "intentionally conceal[ing] material information... in order to profit at his expense."

Wiz terminated his management agreement with them in 2014, and now wants a judge to void his contract with the label.

He's asking for more than $1 million in damages, as well as attorneys' fees and further punitive damages.

"To witness an artist turn on you after supporting them for a number of years is very disheartening," Grinberg told Billboard. "This is an egregious lawsuit filled with inaccuracies, yet unfortunately people sometimes resort to these practices as a way of conducting business.”

Bullets from a gun found in a hidden compartment of the vehicle that transported 33-year old rapper Troy Ave to the hospital following the May 25th shooting at T.I.'s New York City concert at Irving Plaza, match the one that killed his longtime friend and bodyguard Ronald McPhatter, according to DNA Info New York.

McPhatter, 30, aka BSB Banga, died from a gunshot wound to the stomach.

As we previously reported, NYPD Detectives now believe that during a fight backstage at the venue a rival fired the shots that killed McPhatter and wounded Troy in the leg.

During the brawl there was a tussle over the weapon. Troy is seen on surveillance footage bleeding from the leg and firing a shot at an unknown individual, who was out of view of the camera.

A second gunman is being sought by police.

Ronald's brother, anti-gang activist Shanduke McPhatter, told Pix 11 that it was common knowledge that the person Troy fought with that night had prior beef with the BSB Records CEO.

"I was aware of the ongoing beef that was happening with Troy and the other individual," Shanduke said. "I would not have let those 2 gentlemen in that club."

Maggie Carrie Heckstall plans to sue over injuries she sustained during T.I.'s concert at Irving Plaza

Two others were wounded during the shooting.

26-year old model, Maggie Carrie Heckstall, was shot in the knee. She has hired The Blanch Law Firm of Manhattan in preparation for a lawsuit.

“We expect to be filing a claim against all responsible parties," the firm said in a statement.

Christopher Vinson, 34, was shot in the chest, but is expected to recover.

Troy Ave is being held without bond until his trial after pleading not guilty to charges of attempted murder and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, during a court appearance on Monday, May 30th.

Back in February we reported that Tomi Lahren, a conservative host of The Blaze, was up in arms over Beyonce's Super Bowl 50 halftime performance. Lahren was upset that Bey saluted the Black Panther Party.

She criticized the singer and took a shot at her husband, Jay Z, for allegedly being a former narcotics dealer.

“Beyonce, really? What is the political message here? What is it they are trying to convey here? A salute to what? A group that used violence and intimidation to advance, not racial equality but an overthrow of white domination,” Lahren said at the time. “Your husband was a drug dealer. For 14 years he sold crack cocaine. Talk about protecting black neighborhoods – start at home, right?”

12352169272?profile=original

In Pusha T's just released single featuring Hov titled "Drug Dealers Anonymous" the two rappers give Lahren a light jab by using a small sound bite from her rant in the song, which is all about moving product.

It didn't take long for Lahren to respond via her Twitter account on Tuesday night, May 31.

"Always wanted to be on a track with two drug dealers. Thanks @PUSHA_T & #JayZ #DrugDealersAnonymous," she wrote.

LOL...

As the investigation continues into the shooting that happened during T.I.'s concert at Irving Plaza in New York City on Wednesday, May 25, a clearer picture of what happened is starting to emerge.

One person was killed and three were injured, including Brooklyn recording artist Troy Ave, who was shot in the leg.

Police arrested the BSB Records CEO and charged him with attempted murder and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, after releasing video that shows him firing a gun backstage at the venue.

They alleged that he was the lone triggerman and accidentally shot himself.

PIX 11 reports that detectives are now working on a different theory.

According to their report, the 33-year old rapper was approached backstage by someone he had beef with and a fight ensued.

During the scrap Troy and his friend/bodyguard, Ronald McPhatter, were shot.

Ronald McPhatter a.k.a. BSB Banga died from a gunshot wound to the stomach

As Troy and his assailant tussled over the gun another shot went off. After that details get sketchy.

McPhatter, 30, died from a wound to the stomach. Christopher Vinson, 34, is recovering from a chest wound and 26-year old model, Maggie Carrie Heckstall, is recovering after surgery to repair damage from a gunshot to her knee.

Troy appeared in court on Monday, May 30, where he pleaded not guilty to the charges against him. He's being held without bail until his trial.

12352154468?profile=original

His attorney Scott Leemon said his client was the victim in this case and that McPhatter died saving his life.

"He was shot. He didn't shoot himself, nor his bodyguard/longtime friend who died a hero. The video released by NYPD is only a small sampling. The portion released was selective. What happened before? After? Outside of the frame of that one camera view?" said Leemon.

Video After The Jump

Azie Faison, whose life was portrayed in the 2002 film Paid in Full, spoke to VladTV about getting shot nine times after being robbed by his sister's boyfriend. He explains that his sister's boyfriend, Kevin Clark, just got out of jail, and instead of setting him up with drugs to sell Azie said that he took care of Clark by giving him money and a car at first. However, Azie believes that Kevin saw the level he was operating at and decided to rob him.

The former Harlem drug dealer then spoke about Kevin and his accomplices robbing him of his chain and the money in his pockets after shooting him in the head before asking him to open the safe. After revealing that he awoke after his spirit left his body, Azie says that he discovered that his aunt and some other friends at his apartment were shot and killed in the ordeal; he was one of three who survived the shooting.

To hear more about what Azie had to say about the situation, including being accused of snitching to police, hit the clip below.

Video After The Jump

(New York Daily News) A rapper accused of opening fire at a deadly nightclub shooting was the victim, despite video showing him shooting a gun as patrons ran for their lives, his lawyer said Monday.

Rapper Roland (Troy Ave) Collins accused of attempted murder and of shooting himself in the leg was wheeled into court to face charges in the wild-west melee between shows Thursday at the Irving Place nightclub in Union Square.

After ballistics tests, Collins’ charges could be upgraded to murder in the death of 30-year-old Ronald (Edgar) McPhatter.

Collins pleaded not guilty, and was remanded without bail.

The shooting happened at a T.I. concert, before the Atlanta-based rapper was set to take the stage. He was not involved in the violence, sources said.

Collins, 33, winced as several officers and detectives took him out of a marked van and helped him into a wheelchair, where he sat with his right leg bandaged.

12352154679?profile=original

Collins pulled a gray t-shirt over his head as reporters asked him questions.

Prosecutors said Collins recklessly fired a gun five times in a crowded venue with no concern about the consequences.

Collins underwent surgery to have bone fragments removed from his leg.

"This defendant is on video coming out of the VIP room where the individuals were shot,” said Assistant DA Christine Keenan. ”He had the gun in his hand and was seen firing that gun in the direction of fleeing patrons."

Keenan said Collins did not wait for first responders after shooting himself.

"A van that belongs to him brought him to the hospital," she said.

Keenan said that when cops searched the van, they found three guns inside. She said a ballistics test confirmed one of those guns was the one used at Irving Plaza.

"This is still an ongoing investigation," she said, noting that there are pending charges.

But Collins lawyer, Scott Leemon, said the video tells only part of the story.

"What really happened here is Mr. Collins here is the real victim,” Leemon said. “The person who was killed at this event, he died a hero. He (McPhatter) was his bodyguard. He wasn't shot by Mr. Collins. He was a lifelong friend."

"This 11 seconds of video that the NYPD released, it doesn't say what happened before, it doesn't say what happened after. The scientific evidence will show he didn't shoot himself. This was another rush to judgement."

"In this case he's the victim and should be treated like the victim."

Two others were wounded during the shooting.
