Video After The Jump

Redman spoke with VladTV about working with Eminem on "Off The Wall" in 2000 for the "Nutty Professor 2" soundtrack, which sparked a friendship between the veteran rappers. The Newark-born rapper explained that he flew to Detroit to brainstorm and write the track at Eminem's studio, a process that Redman admitted isn't something that happens today.

When asked if he overshadowed Eminem, or vice versa, on the track, Redman said that they each held their own and let their respective styles shine. Redman added that he was very pleased with the outcome of the record, but he and Eminem never went on to record other tracks in the future. Redman told DJ Vlad that if he needed Eminem to record anything with him, the Detroit rapper wouldn't hesitate to come to his aid.

During the conversation, Redman also addressed a rumor about him turning down a meeting with Dr. Dre because he was tired from a flight. He explained that there's more to the story, including the fact that he flew across the country with no sleep, and Redman said that he always wants to be sharp when he's meeting with Dr. Dre.

Hopsin is in a really dark place mentally and admits he has nobody to turn to for support.

The 31-year old California rapper, born Marcus Hopson, posted an emotional open letter to his Instagram account Sunday, September 4, expressing thoughts of suicide and mentioned actor Robin Williams, who took his own life in 2014.

12352344698?profile=original

"Just got out of FUCKin jail...over some total bullshit. They're really bout to ban me from Australia now this shit fuckin sucks man. I hesitate to post whats really goin down in my life, so I hide it with my cool pictures. Shit ain't really that pretty over here at all. You guys may ask "why take it to social media", but youguys are all I got. Since 14 I slaved away for the music and fan base and now music is all I have. That's just the cards I was dealt. I fell into a dark hole that I haven't been able to get out of. Im a master at glorifying my pain, but pain isn't never good. Im only writing this right now because it's making me feel better for the time being. Maybe it is so I can get sorrow. I don't know. I can't see myself ever doing it, but I actually wanna literally die. Like literally. My funeral would be a blessing for me right now. I'm the emotional rapper, I know. Make fun of me. Do as you please. I can't change the way I am. This may be a moment that I look back on and laugh, but right now, I'm not laughing. What would make a 31 year old man cry on a daily basis? Being rich as hell, successful with no love around him. that's a first class ticket on air robin Williams. I ain't goin nowhere tho. I might have to disappear soon and take some time to myself."

This isn't the first time Hopsin has expressed suicidal thoughts. In November 2013, he tweeted, "If there was ever a day I was gonna blow my brains out, it would be today for sure."

Hopefully, he can pull out of his depression and get help.

People may have differing opinions about Drake's music, but one thing I think we can all agree on is that he is loyal to those that have helped him to get to where he is today.

He's demonstrated that throughout his career by crediting Jas Prince as the person who discovered him and the city of Houston for embracing him from the outset.

The Toronto native is now publicly standing in Lil Wayne's corner while he battles to get what he feels is due from Birdman, Cash Money Records and Universal Music Group.

12352350275?profile=original

Wayne has filed a $51 million lawsuit against Cash Money for breach of contract. He's also suing UMG, claiming that he hasn't been properly compensated for discovering and signing Tyga, Nicka Minaj and Drake.to his Young Money Records label, which is a subsidiary of Cash Money and Universal.

Over the weekend Wayne appeared to retire via Twitter.

"I AM NOW DEFENSELESS AND mentally DEFEATED & I leave gracefully and thankful I luh my fanz but I'm dun," he wrote. "Ain't lookin for sympathy, just serenity."

12352349896?profile=original

On Monday, September 5, Drake let Wayne know that he's not going to let his career sink.

"The boss @liltunechi. We are fighting until you get yours. Freedom to drop music and peace of mind," Drake captioned an Instagram photo. "I don't know what these other weirdos are on with all the side talks but I know you gave me a shot and all I can ever do with the rest of my life is return the favor. YOUNG MONEY FOREVER."

12352350897?profile=original

It's the most public show of support that Wayne has gotten from anyone signed to his label.

What's your take on this latest development?

If you listen to Young Thug's music it's apparent that he's been heavily influenced by Lil Wayne. However, their personal relationship has been strained at best. And for the most part it's Thugger's fault.

With Wayne going through a really tough period in his career at the moment, and appearing to be ready to call it quits because of an impasse in negotiations with Birdman and Cash Money Records regarding his contract, Thug wants to bury the hatchet.

The Atlanta rapper wrote a couple of emotional notes to Wayne via his Twitter account Sunday night/Monday morning.

"@LilTunechi I'm holding u down no matter what," Thugger wrote on the social networking site. "Fuck the world and what they think/feel I'm with u for life, ur the reason I rap. I just wish u could love me the way I love u big bro… ur my idol for life and I hope ur sorry for bashing me, not knowing how much I love u."

Drake surprised his fans in Houston during his second sold out show at the Toyota Center on Sunday, September 4, when he brought out Lil Wayne.

Wayne performed three songs, including "We Be Steady Mobbin" and "A Milli." Before exiting the stage he took shots at Cash Money Records.

12352330298?profile=original

"I've been in Houston since I was about 14-years old," Weezy told the crowd. "I want you to know that I know that them other niggas fucking over me right now, but I always know I got a motherfucking family in Rap-A-Lot. So, before I leave, I leave you with some kind words. Fuck Cash Money!"

As we previously reported, Wayne announced he was retiring over the weekend. Will he change his mind? Only time will tell.
