While out in Las Vegas lending support to Floyd Mayweather Jr. for his upcoming fight with Miguel Cotto, 50 Cent took some time out to talk with Elie Seckbach and a group of boxing reporters about a variety of subjects.

50 confirmed that his fifth studio album will be released in July, talked about his amateur boxing background and answered the often asked question regarding comparisons between Floyd and Muhammad Ali.

"I think {Floyd] is the equivalent to Ali," 50 said. "I think he is the Ali of our time, our generation. The difference is the actual messaging points. In that period Ali was a part of a movement that was a huge movement that socially made him someone different. They responded to him differently because he was willing to stand up for that in that time period. Without those issues going on it's pretty tough for you to be anywhere near in comparison to him," 50 added. "Hip hop culture is now pop culture, it's so broad. If you watch how many of the artists and people... how relevant [Floyd] is to that it says how big he is to the sport. He actually is boxing right now."

50 also talks about how he and Floyd became friends.

Kanye West has done a nice job building his G.O.O.D Music label and it looks like he could adding a fellow Chicago native to the mix soon.

During a recent conversation with XXL.com, Twista said signing a deal with the house that Yeezy built could become a reality very soon.

It’s very possible,” Twista said. “My main producer, Traxter, is working a lot with [Kanye] lately, so that’s a possibility. I don’t think [Kanye] really got nobody like me over there, so you need a person like me up in there. It’s an easy vision. Can we make a hit together? We tried once or twice…it worked.

George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch volunteer who shot and killed 17-year old Trayvon Martin is a free man today after posting 10% of his $150,000 bail on Sunday. He will remain free until his second degree murder trial begins in 2013.

The decision by a Florida judge to allow Zimmerman the opportunity for freedom has angered many Americans, including thousands in the hip-hop community. One man who is speaking out against the decision is Papoose, who made a tribute song dedicated to Trayvon several weeks ago.

That’s some savage sh*t,” Papoose told XXL in a new interview. “The man could be free and Trayon is in his grave till eternity. Everybody celebrated when they arrested dude, but I think it was premature. This dude is an animal. The whole thing is bullsh*t.”

Like Papoose, several other rappers have made tribute songs dedicated to Trayvon. The unity shown by his peers is something Pap is proud of.

All of us being successful…anybody who has a voice, it’s our duty for us to provide a voice for those who don’t have a platform,” Papoose said. “I felt like it’s my duty. I felt like I’d be playing myself if I didn’t say something. I commend everybody.”
