Video After The Jump
It's been 15 years since Aaliyah tragically passed away on August 25, 2001, in a plane crash at the young age of 22.
Born Aaliyah Dana Haughton in Brooklyn, New York, she was already a superstar in the music world after only two albums; 1994's "Age Ain't Nothing but a Number" and 1996's "One in a Million."
Her career as an actress was on a similar path following leading roles in the 2000 film "Romeo Must Die" and "Queen of the Damned," which was released in 2002.
Aaliyah had just wrapped up a video shoot in the Bahamas for the single "Rock the Boat" off of her 2001 self-titled album at the time of her death.
Her hit songs included "Back and Forth," "One in a Million," "At Your Best (You Are Love)," "Age Ain't Nothing but a Number," "If Your Girl Only Knew," "4 Page Letter," "More than a Woman," "Rock the Boat," "We Need a Resolution," "Are You That Somebody" and "I Care 4 U."
