Meek Mill covers the new issue of The Source. The Maybach Music rapper will be releasing his debut album, Dreams & Nightmares next month on August 28th.

It’s all about me thinking what type of first album am I gonna present to the people. [I got] something for the streets, the clubs, storytelling, soulful songs, deep songs," Meek told The Source of his new album.

He also talked to The Source about the Chris Brown/Drake fight.

I was there, and sh*t got real. I had nothing to do with it. I don’t have a problem with Drake….It was a lot of unknown guys throwing bottles," he said.

Cosmic Kev sat down with Nas to talk about his song "Daughters" which appears on his album, Life Is Good. Nas also speaks on how the song would have been different if it had been written for his son.

"As a grown man talking to a young man in the making. That's a whole different conversation," Nas said. "When I'm talking to my daughter it's like I've been single, I've been young, I've been living fast, I've been dating. You know, I've been doing what I'm doing, seeing different girls all over the world and then that day comes when you have a daughter yourself. It just hits you right in the face and just changes your whole idea about everything. You wanna protect her. It's kinda like we're contradicted because we're out there doing what we're doing living an adult life, but we don't won't that for our kids ever."

Ogilvy Paris has completed work on a first film campaign for French haute couture brand Louis Vuitton.

The spots feature Yasiin Bey (AKA Mos Def) reciting Muhammad Ali speeches, combined with sound design and original music.

View the spots and a teaser here: http://vimeopro.com/apollostudios/louis-vuitton

Apollo Studios were drafted in to strike a deal with the perfect man for the job, electing Bey because of his personal attachment to the legendary boxer – he grew up with his mother reading him Ali speeches.

And, due to the immensity of the positive feedback at this early stage, the featured music is being developed into a full track.

The inspiration for the campaign came from Louis Vuitton’s rich history of promoting the art of travel. For more than 150 years it has been conveying the message of self-discovery and exploration, capturing the journeys of some of the world’s most extraordinary personalities.

According to Louis Vuitton, however, a unique journey is about much more than a destination. It is about courage, inspiration, dream and life.

For more info on the campaign, click: http://www.louisvuittonjourneys.com/thegreatest/

Ali was chosen as a central focus for the spots because his victories and defeats left a mark on the world. He stood up for the ideals he believed in, leaving his incisive words still echoing in the ears of millions of people today.

Rap star 50 Cent and Floyd Mayweather Jr. plan to take the UFChead-on for the hearts and wallets of the next generation of fight fans, after forming a company that could dramatically shift the power-base in boxing.

In a revealing interview with News Limited Newspapers, 50 Cent outlined plans to challenge the domination of boxing promoters Golden Boy and Top Rank "immediately", with their new company TMT (The Money Team) Promotions.

Mayweather has been co-ordinating raids to sign boxing's best stars from jail - he is due to be released August 3 - with 50 Cent negotiating the deals and yesterday signing Australia's IBF featherweight champion Billy Dib to a three-year contract.

50 Cent and Billy Dib

"We want to change boxing," said 50 Cent, real name Curtis Jackson, who's amassed a $110 million fortune in the music game.

"The goal initially is to create a company by fighters, for the fighters, which breaks the traditional vibe of promoters taking advantage of fighters.

"We're going to change the demographic also, appeal to the younger demographic.

"You look at UFC and MMA, when their festivities start the place is full, whereas the tradition in boxing is you wait until the main event starts.

"We want to put on cards where there are five main event fights, where there is entertainment from start to finish, cards that command attention all over the world."

50 Cent said TMT Promotions would put on their first show in November, most likely in Las Vegas. That show would likely feature Mayweather's return to the ring.

Many disillusioned boxing fans have switched to the UFC in recent years, tired of mismatches, politics and meaningless alphabet titles, though Mayweather remains the most watched combat athlete on the planet and earns an estimated $40 million per fight.

With the undefeated Mayweather's boxing credentials, and 50 Cent's mass appeal beyond the sport, several contracted top fighters are expected to defect from GBP and Top Rank to join TMT.

"I've already had fighters say to me, 'I wish I could join [TMT] but I've got this contract'," 50 Cent said.

"To me, the options are pretty clear. You can deal with a snake in the grass, a snake in the street or you could try something new."

50 Cent has a well-known story of a tough upbringing in New York, going from teenage drug-dealer to the globe's most recognisable rap star and a successful businessman earning $100 million in a deal to market vitamin water.

"I come from a background where not everything is in your favour, but I always anticipate success, I approach things with a positive outlook," said 50 Cent in reference to his latest venture.

Sydney's Dib is the third fighter on TMT's roster, with stars Yuriorkis Gamboa and Andre Dirrell already on the books.

"I really want to associate myself with the best possible talent, and Billy falls into that category," 50 Cent said.

"Floyd asked me to sign him, he has been watching his career and he has always been a big fan.

"When you have talent, it is important to showcase that talent."

We don't make it a habit of making fun of kids who are just starting their singing careers. In fact we applaud them for having the guts to do what most adults never would. But that doesn't mean they are immune from criticism.

Take 11-year old Harper Gruzins for instance. She is is singer/songwriter from Coppell, Texas. According to her website she plays the guitar and piano and is "able to write songs that seem amazingly deep for her age--yet still reflect her youthful outlook on life."

Harper sang the "Star Bangled-Banner" at the Dallas-Los Angeles MLS match on Saturday, July 28th and it wasn't pretty. Deadspin called it the worst national anthem ever.

12349393479?profile=original

The crowd looked confused as Harper struggled through her nearly three-minute rendition of the song.
