Report via Houston Chronicle - In a summer of stunners that had rocked the NBA, the Rockets on Thursday pulled off what could be the largest of them all, trading for 2017 NBA MVP Russell Westbrook to reunite him in a dramatically transformed backcourt with James Harden, two individuals with knowledge of the deal said.
The Rockets will send Chris Paul to the Oklahoma City Thunder along with two first-round picks and the right to swap picks in two additional drafts. ESPN initially reported the trade.
Westbrook and Harden had strongly favored the move and a chance to play in a backcourt together, as they did for Harden's first three seasons together, a person with knowledge of their thinking had said.
Westbrook had met with the Thunder front office this week to say he would welcome a trade following the Paul George departure to the Clippers, but an individual with knowledge of the talks said he had initially broached the subject after the OKC season ended with a first-round loss to the Portland Trail Blazers.
Paul will return to Oklahoma City, where he played after Hurricane Katrina forced the New Orleans Hornets to play during Paul's first two NBA seasons.

Confused and hurting, he began to make choices that would end up landing him an 8 year sentence at just 15. While finding himself and his place, his Uncle, a respected O.G. encouraged him to put his thoughts onto paper. Glen began to do so and spent his remaining time penning lyrics of his life and lessons to make the time pass. He began to follow a new motto for self..."I can't...should never come out of his mouth.
Upon release he was invited into a studio session. He felt at home. Like he found his place. And it has been a straight forward push since then. LARGO, Fla. (WFLA) – A Pinellas County Dunkin’ Donuts manager was arrested for grand theft this week after police say she hired a fake employee to pocket more money for herself.
Pinellas Park police arrested 29-year-old Markia Nelson Monday morning. An arrest report identifies Nelson as a store manager at the Dunkin’ on Ulmerton Road near 40th Street North in Largo.
According to the arrest report, Nelson hired a “fictitious person” on May 15, 2019. From May 16 through July 6, police say Nelson punched in and punched out the fake employee, logging a total of 235 hours.
The arrest report says the fake employee earned $8.65 an hour. The fake employee earned a total of $1,610.84.
Police say Nelson direct deposited that money into her own account. She later admitted to police that she did it and used the money for “life expenses,” the arrest report says.

Mathew Borges, 18, of Lawrence, will be eligible for parole in 30 years under the maximum allowable sentence handed down on Tuesday by Superior Court Judge Helene Kanzajian.
A jury convicted Borges in May of first-degree murder in the November 2016 killing of 16-year-old Lee Manuel Viloria-Paulino. Viloria-Paulino's decapitated body and head were found along the banks of a river by a dog walker.
Prosecutors say Borges was jealous the victim had spent time with a girl he liked.
Under Massachusetts law, a first-degree murder conviction carries a life sentence without the possibility of parole for adults. But parole eligibility must be added if the crime was committed as a juvenile.
