Although "Hills" star Heidi Montag played coy on Monday when MTV News asked about her reported pictorial for the September issue of Playboy, her friend Kim Kardashian talked freely about Heidi's photos, which, according to Spencer Pratt, are "hypothetically" set to hit newsstands in August. In fact, it was Kardashian, who has posed for Playboy herself, who helped the "Hills" star make the decision to pose for the magazine. "Actually, I was in Mexico and I got a call from Heidi saying, 'Call me right now,' " Kardashian told MTV News on Tuesday (June 16). "So I called her and she had said to me, 'What do you think? What's your opinion on if I were to do Playboy?' " Kardashian told her to "go for it." "I think that now's the time," she said. "I think it's a very classy magazine. It's artsy. I talked her through the whole process and helped her make up her mind." Of course, Kardashian, who is currently the spokeswoman for Nivea's "Good-bye Cellulite, Hello Bikini" challenge, wasn't the only person who helped Heidi make up her mind. Spencer also had a hand in the decision-making process. "Her and Spencer talked it over," Kardashian said. "They felt like it was the right thing for her to do and I'm anxious to see it." Kardashian is confident that Heidi had as good an experience as she did when she posed for the magazine. "It was a really fun process for me," she said, adding that getting asked to be on the cover is an "honor." "I'm excited to see what the pictures will turn out to be. Source: MTVNEWS

In Little Haiti, there's an underground fixture who's planning to smack the masses upside the head with his raps: Redd Eyezz. The up-and-coming MC says looks can be deceiving in his 'hood. "You'll see one of the older guys driving around here in a bucket or hooptie, and they'll really be millionaires," Redd said. "This is one of the only 'hoods where you could go to sleep broke and the next morning, wake up a millionaire. It happens so quick." You just have to have the right street connect. As a member of the Zoe Pound, Redd and his crew were their own hookups. The Pound's name became legendary — in Little Haiti and in 'hoods across the country — because of how they used to run the trap. "This is where we used to trap, 24/7. One-stop shop, get everything you need," Eyezz told MTV News, standing in front of the infamous "White House" where the Pound would accumulate funds from hustling. The White House has since been shut down by the city. "It wasn't no initiation," Redd explained of how his clique was formed. "Because we're not a gang. We were just brothas hollering at brothas. We grew up in the same neighborhood, went to the same schools as kids. So our bond was gonna be a little different than other cliques and crews. A bunch of brothers from the 'hood, all came from this particular area, from the 'hood. [We] had a few heads, about 30 of us when we originally started. The whole dream was to make it out this 'hood. It's rough out here, like every other neighborhood, but it gets to the extreme sometime. That was the whole dream: to get our families up outta here. Any source of income we was doing to get, we would put it back into music. "The best time I probably would say is between '97, '99, 2000," he added. "It was one of our best times. We was young, 21, 22, out here doing whatever we wanna do. Travel the world. Some of the best times, making a lot of money in those times. Maybe after that, around 2001, it started coming down. We was losing homies, homies going to the pen. Some of the feelings I went through because of some of my homies I lost, I still grieve. Death comes at a crazy time, and it's always unexpected. It's always gonna hit you hard. You gotta accept it. Losing so many homies, you get numb, start losing tears. You don't even cry no more." Two of his friends in particular — Olo and Chub — convinced Redd to take music more seriously before they passed away. "Olo, who is no longer with us, and Chub, which is the same situation, no longer with us, and one of my other homeboys, he's in the prison. They came up with the idea to do it," Redd said. "Olo came to me personally and said he wanted to get into the music thing. I was already doing my little thing with it. Me and my homeboy [leader of the crew], Mac[-A-Zoe], Mac was locked up at the time. He was coming home, and he wanted to get into it." The Zoe Pound became legendary street figures over the years. All the rappers shout them out. 50 Cent and the G-Unit, Rick Ross, the Game, Lil Wayne and Birdman, DJ Khaled, the Diplomats — the list goes on and on. Everyone has shouted them out in their songs. Eyezz has worked with many of them on his mixtapes, including his latest, Warning Shots. "In hip-hop, a lot of rappers wanna be known as official and keeping it 100," Eyezz said. "That's what Zoe Pound is about. It's love for hip-hop. The influence we have on hip-hop is love. To hear somebody as big as 50, Wayne shouting us out, it's love, because they know what we about. It makes a gangsta feel good." Eyezz has a deal to put his debut LP, Never Personal, out through Asylum Records. He said that some record executives were afraid to work with him because of the reputation that the Zoe Pound has in the streets, but they're coming around when they see that Redd is all about making music. The album was recorded over the past two years with collaborations from Cool & Dre, Lil Wayne, Jim Jones, Bun B and Rick Ross. Redd's allegiance to his crew is still strong. He's in the midst of a "Free Mac-A-Zoe" campaign to help his incarcerated friend. Source: MTVNEWS

New York police are alleging that a dispute between Tru Life’s brother and several other individuals may have killed a teen and left another man seriously injured. According to investigators, early yesterday morning (June 16), five gang members ambushed two men at a Manhattan apartment complex, to retaliate against the earlier shooting of a man named Michael Slater. The man authorities say is a suspected drug dealer was shot in abdomen outside nightclub Pacha, and is listed in critical condition. The gang-inspired apartment ambush resulted in the two individuals being stabbed repeatedly in the chest and face. One man, 30 year old Jason Black, survived the assault and is listed in critical condition. The other, an 18-year old teen whose name has not been released, died on the operating table. While details are still being revealed believe the shooting and fatal stabbing are the result of an ongoing feud between Jason Black and Tru Life’s brother. The brother, whose name has also not been disclosed, was first introduced to Hip-Hop fans in 2007 courtesy of the punching incident between then rivals Tru Life and Cam’Ron. According to various reports, the brother joined Tru Life in confronting Cam’Ron outside of Club Stereo. After an escalation of words and some reports alleging the brother even threatened to shoot up the venue, Tru Life assaulted the Dip Set founder with a single punch to the face. At press time, Tru Life could not be reached for comment. Source : AllHipHop

Kernel Records, a music label based in Finland, has filed a lawsuit against acclaimed music producer Timbaland and Pop singer Nelly Furtado, claiming that the two stole elements from a song previously recorded by Finnish artists in order to create the song "Do It." Produced by Timbaland and written by Furtado, the song appeared on the singer's third album Loose in '06, which also featured hit singles such as "Promiscuous" and "Say It Right." The Finnish record company alleges that production from "Do It" was taken from "Acidjazzed Evening," a song originally recorded in 2000 by composer Janne Suni. According to Kernel Records, Timbaland "knowingly and willfully stole" the song. In 2007, controversy arose when the first of several independent producers accused Timbaland of plagiarism via YouTube, using video evidence. Coincidentally, the production of "Do It" was also cited as being stolen work. During the same year, Timbaland reacted to the accusations of plagiarism: “That mess is so ridiculous," he told Maryland-based radio show Elliot in the Morning. " I can’t really discuss it because it’s a legal matter. But that’s why people don’t believe it. It’s from a video game, idiot. Sample and stole is two different things. Stole is like I walked in your house, watched you make it, stole your protools, went to my house and told Nelly, ‘Hey, I got a great song for you.’ Sample is like you heard it somewhere, and you just sampled. Maybe you didn’t know who it was by because it don’t have the credits listed.” Because, as he claims, he heard it from a video game, he did not consider the possibility of a lawsuit, as he believed that the sample was public domain. According to AllHipHop.com, Kernel Records is suing Mosley Music, LLC, and Geffen Records, requesting that the release, performance, reprinting, and sale of "Do It" be prohibited. Source:HipHopDX

Obsessed - Mariah Carey “Obsessed,” the first single from Mariah Carey’s upcoming album Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel, debuted on Chicago’s B96 radio today, and — surprise — it seems like the song is targeting Eminem, who recently started a beef with Carey and her husband Nick Cannon with the Relapse song “Bagpipes From Baghdad. “I was like, why are you so obsessed with me?” Carey asks before the song even begins. In “Bagpipes,” Eminem rapped, “Mariah, what ever happened to us, why did we have to break up… Nick Cannon better back the fuck up. I’m not playing, I want her back, you punk.” Mariah’s response? “You’re delusional, boy, you’re losing your mind,” Carey sings over choppy synths, with a dash of Auto-Tune dabbed on her voice. “It must be weed, it must be the E… Why are you so obsessed with me? Lying that you’re sexing me.” Carey adds some more barbs, like “Telling the world how much you miss me, but we never were so why you trippin’ ” and provoking the rapper with “You’re a mom & pop, I’m a corporation. I’m a press conference, you’re a conversation.” The biting mid-tempo track is already more musically and lyrically engrossing than E=MC2’s singles. In case you missed the radio debut, the diva’s own official Website promises to post the song at 4 p.m. ET today. The news comes straight from Carey’s updated Twitter, which not only revealed the “Obsessed” single cover art, which features a drenched Mariah, but also announced that Memoirs will hit stores on August 25th. As for the “Obsessed” video, Rush Hour’s Brett Ratner will once again direct Carey, having already made the “We Belong Together” and “Touch My Body” clips. The video is expected out soon. “Obsessed” was produced by the duo of The-Dream and Tricky Stewart, who also produced the majority of Memoir according to Carey’s official site. “Seriously, this is one of my favorite songs ever. I love the whole album. I’m completely immersed in it. I can’t wait for you to hear it,” Carey previously wrote on her Twitter about “Obsessed,” adding that the song already has a remix all ready to go. Download Here Source:Rolling Stone

Afeni Shakur has confirmed the participation of more celebrities for today’s (June 16) Atlanta celebration of her son’s birthday. LOS ANGELES, June 15 (Xinhua) -- The call for the "Condoms in Porn" legislation in California Monday has revived the debate on whether the porn industry in the U.S. is legal and whether porn stars should have labor protection. The AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) led a group of people to gather in front of Larry Flynt's Hustler store Monday in West Hollywood to renew a call for a California "Condoms in Porn" law. The AHF is seeking the introduction of legislation that would mandate the use of condoms for adult video performers as a worker safety provision of California's Labor Code. Organizers said the Condoms in Porn law is equal to how the Labor Code currently requires the use of hard hats and other garments and barriers as safety precautions on certain California work sites and locations. The call was renewed after the Los Angeles Times reported that an actress in the porn industry here in Los Angeles has been tested HIV positive. Health officials in Los Angeles said that 22 actors in adult sex movies had contracted HIV since 2004, when a previous outbreak led to efforts to protect pornography industry employees. "We have an industry that is exposing workers to life-threatening diseases as part of their employment," said Dr. Jonathan Fielding, director of public health for Los Angeles County. "That is outrageous and anachronistic. These infections are virtually entirely preventable." But at issue now is whether porn film and video making is a legal industry in the U.S. Labor protection law only protects legal workers. The debate on whether the porn industry is legal has been going on for many years. In the United States, prostitution is illegal in most states except Nevada. In California, both prostitution and solicitation for rostitution are prohibited. But strangely enough, to buy or sell sex is illegal, but to make money by filming sex scenes and sell porn films and videos seems to be legitimate business. Chinaview

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte' Stallworth took full responsibility for killing a pedestrian while driving drunk in Florida and began serving a 30-day jail sentence Tuesday after he pleaded guilty to DUI manslaughter. Stallworth also reached a confidential financial settlement to avoid a potential lawsuit from the family of 59-year-old Mario Reyes, according to Stallworth attorney Christopher Lyons. Reyes was struck and killed March 14 by Stallworth, who was driving his black 2005 Bentley after a night drinking at a swanky hotel bar. Stallworth, 28, told Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Dennis Murphy that he hopes to get involved in drunken driving education programs. "I accept full responsibility for this horrible tragedy," said Stallworth, who was accompanied at the hearing by his parents, siblings and other supporters. "I will bear this burden for the rest of my life." Stallworth faced 15 years in prison. After his release from jail, Stallworth must serve two years of house arrest and spend eight years on probation. The NFL has said it will review the matter for possible disciplinary action. Lyons said the plea agreement will allow Stallworth to resume his football career. Stallworth must also undergo drug and alcohol testing, will have a lifetime driver's license suspension and must perform 1,000 hours of community service. Lyons said after five years, Stallworth could win approval for limited driving such as for employment. Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle cited Stallworth's lack of previous criminal record, cooperation with police and willingness to accept responsibility as factors in the plea deal. Rundle also said the Reyes family -- particularly the victim's 15-year-old daughter -- wanted the case resolved to avoid any more pain. "For all of these reasons, a just resolution of this case has been reached," Rundle said. None of the Reyes family attended the hearing. Their attorney, Rodolfo Suarez, read a statement saying the family wants to "bring closure to this emotional and tragic event." Suarez was not immediately available to comment after the hearing. After a night drinking at a bar in Miami Beach's Fountainebleau hotel, police said Stallworth hit Reyes, a construction crane operator who was rushing to catch a bus after finishing his shift around 7:15 a.m. Stallworth told police he flashed his lights in an attempt to warn Reyes, who was not in a crosswalk when he was struck. Stallworth had a blood-alcohol level of .126 after the crash, well above Florida's .08 limit. Stallworth stopped after the crash and immediately told officers he had hit Reyes. Police estimated Stallworth was driving about 50 mph in a 40 mph zone. Stallworth signed a seven-year, $35 million contract with the Browns before last season but was injured much of the year. The California native and University of Tennessee college star has also played in the NFL for the New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles and New Orleans Saints. The night before the crash, Stallworth earned a $4.5 million roster bonus from the Browns. David Cornwell, a Stallworth attorney handling the NFL situation, said he has kept top league officials apprised of the case. "Whenever it is appropriate to do so, we are prepared to discuss the circumstances under which Donte' will resume his career," Cornwell said. Source : ESPN

Polow Da Don and Timbaland were so excited about the project, they almost gave Fif tracks. But production from those two will more than likely pop up on Before I Self Destruct, due in September. The G-Unit General is warming the scene up before summer officially hits, dropping his new mixtape before the official product. If you're curious about the title, know that it's not about a beef with one person in particular — this war angel is fed up with the watered-down music in hip-hop right now. It's not what he adored growing up as a fan. "What I fell in love with initially ain't even in the mutha----in' art form anymore. It's cool because there's an opportunity for me to become [that] to a whole new generation ... because of their age group, they're not aware of it. "Now I gotta shift the energy," 50 added. "I gotta make them follow me. After they follow me, they'll be able to make real hip-hop records and make them successful. I have to have a successful project with really good hip-hop music to make these people go, 'OK, we can make [a real hip-hop album].' I have to be successful to make the record companies go, 'We can support this guy that wrote a rap album' instead of feeling like 'We need him to go on this record with Ne-Yo or Dream. Get somebody on there to do the hook.' That's the concept of what they feel they can present to the public and that's not what the f--- I was going on when I started." 50 is debuting the entire mixtape Tuesday (June 16) on Hot 97 with Funkmaster Flex then posting it on his ThisIs50 that night for free download. The Queens MC is also hiring new video directors — a different one for each clip — to come up with visuals for the mixtape. "When I start writing music to my core, I'm talking about the way I came up, the way I was raised," he explained. "That's easy to me. Tell me to make a commercial pop record, a commercial hit record and that's more difficult to me than to create concepts that people are excited about where I'm from." After War Angel, 50 says to look for Sincerely Southside, on which he'll be rapping over some '90s R&B hits, as well as a full G-Unit mixtape prior to the release of Before I Self Destruct. "I write at a rapid pace," he said. "I have binges. There's points I'll be in the studio ... I've met moments when I'm there and unmotivated by production. Just there and unexcited about the whole sh--. Then there's times when every beat that comes on, I have an idea." Source: MTVNEWS

G-Unit member Tony Yayo is disappointed to see friend and recording partner Max B go to jail. Max, born Charles Wingate, was found guilty of manslaughter, as well as eight other charges, last week in New Jersey. His sentencing is July 31. Yayo said the trial went south before it even started, blaming his friend's downfall on a January video blog, in which Max and his lawyer, Gerald M. Saluti, spoke about the case for more than six minutes. The two also were part of subsequent Internet interviews. "It's an unfortunate thing that happened to Max B," Yayo told us. "He just had a kid. I f--- with Max. I f--- with French [Montana]. I think he had bad representation with his lawyer. What lawyer do you know that's gonna do a blog with you? That's when I think everything got messed up. That blog f---ed it up. You know I'm always in trouble. When I have a case, I don't do no press, nothing. If you don't got a lawyer there telling you, 'Shut the f--- up,' you're f---ed up. The lawyer was wack. Your lawyer wants to sit there and do a blog with you? [Max's] lawyer may not have been the one to handle a homicide." Saluti met Max a couple of years ago as part of the legal team Jim Jones provided for Max, who is an estranged member of Jones' Byrd Gang. Saluti eventually took the reins and said he would rep B for free. The lawyer fumed when he was told of Yayo's comments. "My first comment is, who the hell is Tony Yayo and what law school did he go to?" Saluti said. "Everything I do, I do for a reason. And where were all these people in support of Max — like Tony Yayo and all these other people that have something to say — when he was out there by himself facing all of these charges? Nowhere to be seen. Now everyone has an opinion about it. Everyone wants to help Max. I saw people were bustin' my chops about blogging while we were waiting for a verdict in this case ... on my Twitter. Do people actually think I touch my own Twitter and it's not my assistant? You think I have time to Twitter? "What year did Yayo graduate from law school is my question," Saluti added. "How many cases has he tried to verdict? It's ridiculous. People are so ready to kick a guy when he's down. Not that I'm saying Max and I are down, because we damn sure aren't done fighting this." In the wake of Max's conviction, Saluti appeared in an online video and read a letter from his client thanking fans for their support. Max also said in his letter he wouldn't trade Saluti for the world, even if the late, great Johnnie Cochran "rose from the dead." The attorney said he's in the middle of filing a motion to get the case thrown out altogether. "My daughter came to me at the end of the case, and she said, 'Daddy, you lost? But you worked so hard on that case. You don't lose. How could you lose?' " Saluti recalled. "And I told her, 'That's just the way God wants it right now.' That was my answer, and that's still my answer. Max is supposed to be the godfather to my 1-year-old, who we were gonna baptize after the trial. And I said to him after the trial, 'Water is not touching that kid's head until you are out the hole.' And I don't expect that to be 30 years from now. He was strong, you have to admit. I think I was more upset than he was. I really do. "I went and saw Max in jail the next day, after the verdict, and he wrote a letter to his fans specifically, and when I read it, I choked back tears," the lawyer added. "I love that boy. I held his son in my arms. I have pictures of his son and my son together." Authorities claim Max was part of a conspiracy to rob two men of around $30,000 two years ago. Source:MTVNEWS
