Video After The Jump

In this clip, Boosie reacted to the news of the serious drug trafficking charges Fetty Wap is staring down at the moment. Boosie said that it’s odd for someone of Fetty Wap’s status to revert back to the drug game like that when the rap money slows up. According to Boosie, that option is normally taken up by local rappers or those that haven’t reached the pinnacles of success in music like Fetty has up to this point.

Video After The Jump

Nothing can ruin a promising rapper's career like an extended spell in prison. Suddenly robbed of your freedom just as your prospects in life had begun to look brighter than ever, finding yourself behind bars has been a key component in the journeys of many MC’s past and present. But for Brooklyn’s own Bobby Shmurda, his case is one that is baffling onlookers in real time. As while the world was waiting to find out what was next for the leader of the GS9, the results have left the drill pioneer with both a lower profile and degree of investment from hip-hop than he did when he was still behind bars.

The Matrix Resurrections – Official Trailer 2

Video After The Jump

Remember what is real. Watch the new trailer for The Matrix Resurrections now – in theaters and on HBO Max 12.22.21. Get tickets: https://gettickets.whatisthematrix.com #MatrixMonday #TheMatrix

From visionary filmmaker Lana Wachowski comes “The Matrix Resurrections,” the long-awaited next chapter in the groundbreaking franchise that redefined a genre. The new film reunites original stars Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss in the iconic roles they made famous, Neo and Trinity.

In “The Matrix Resurrections,” return to a world of two realities: one, everyday life; the other, what lies behind it. To find out if his reality is a physical or mental construct, to truly know himself, Mr. Anderson will have to choose to follow the white rabbit once more. And if Thomas…Neo…has learned anything, it’s that choice, while an illusion, is still the only way out of—or into—
the Matrix. Of course, Neo already knows what he has to do. But what he doesn’t yet know is the Matrix is stronger, more secure and more dangerous than ever before. Déjà vu.

Reeves reprises the dual roles of Thomas Anderson/Neo, the man once saved from the Matrix to become the savior of humankind, who will once again have to choose which path to follow.
Moss portrays the iconic warrior Trinity… or is she Tiffany, a suburban wife and mother of three with a penchant for superpowered motorcycles?

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (“Candyman,” the “Aquaman” franchise) plays the wise and worldly Morpheus who, as always, serves as a guide to Neo while also fulfilling his own greater purpose on a very singular journey of self-discovery.

Jessica Henwick (TV’s “Iron Fist,” “Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens”) plays the hacker Bugs, the proverbial white rabbit on a mission to discover the one who sacrificed himself for humankind--and willing to take any risk necessary in search of the legend she idolizes.

Jonathan Groff (“Hamilton,” TV’s “Mindhunter”), plays Thomas Anderson’s business partner, a slick, confident corporate type with insouciant charm, a disarming smile and an eye on the bottom line--everything Mr. Anderson is not.

Neil Patrick Harris (“Gone Girl”) plays Thomas’ therapist, working closely with his patient to understand the meaning behind his dreams and to distinguish them from reality.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas (TV’s “Quantico”) plays a young woman with a wisdom that belies her years and an ability to see the truth, no matter how murky the waters.

And Jada Pinkett Smith (“Angel Has Fallen,” TV’s “Gotham”) returns as Niobe, the fierce General who once fought for the survival of Zion and who now sees to the welfare of her people with a familiar fire in her eyes, despite a sense of disbelief and suspicion upon Neo’s return.

Lana Wachowski directed from a screenplay by Wachowski & David Mitchell & Aleksandar Hemon, based on characters created by The Wachowskis. The film was produced by James McTeigue, Lana Wachowski and Grant Hill. The executive producers were Garrett Grant, Terry Needham, Michael Salven, Karin Wachowski, Jesse Ehrman and Bruce Berman.

Wachowski’s creative team behind the scenes included “Sense8” collaborators: directors of photography Daniele Massaccesi and John Toll, production designers Hugh Bateup and Peter Walpole, editor Joseph Jett Sally, costume designer Lindsay Pugh, visual effects supervisor Dan Glass, and composers Johnny Klimek and Tom Tykwer.

Nick Cannon is mourning an unimaginable loss. The 41-year-old TV personality announced Tuesday on The Nick Cannon Show that his youngest son, 5-month-old Zen, died of brain cancer.

Cannon and Alyssa Scott welcomed Zen back in June, making him Cannon's seventh child. On his show, the father of seven tearfully shared how he and his family discovered Zen was battling Hydrocephalus, a form of brain cancer.

According to the Mayo Clinic, Hydrocephalus "is the buildup of fluid in the cavities (ventricles) deep within the brain. The excess fluid increases the size of the ventricles and puts pressure on the brain."

"I always noticed he had a cough and so I wanted to check it out," he said. "He had this interesting breathing and by the time he was two months I noticed he had this nice sized head too — a Cannon head. We didn’t think anything of it. But I wanted to take him to the doctor for his sinus and breathing. We thought it would be routine."

The family quickly discovered that it was not a routine visit and that Zen had fluid building in his head and it was a malignant tumor. The baby had brain surgery and a shunt to drain the fluid.

Cannon shared that things took a turn for the worse at Thanksgiving.

"This weekend I made an effort to spend the most quality time with Zen. We woke up on Sunday and went to the ocean with him and Alyssa and then I had to fly back to New York for the show," he shared, breaking down in tears. "I got a call on my way to the airport to head back to Zen."

Cannon then tearfully shared that he held his son for the last time this weekend. "You can't heal until you feel," he told the audience, adding that he's at work so soon after because this is all he knows, calling the episode a "celebration of life" for Zen.

Cannon is taking some some time off. A source tells ET that his show "was scheduled to have two show tapings on Monday, including a live show. Those were both unexpectedly cancelled on Sunday and a pre-taped episode was aired on Monday instead."

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — A man who was executed in Mississippi last month for killing his estranged wife admitted to another killing, and his confession could resolve a 2007 cold case, a prosecutor said Monday.

Before his execution on Nov. 17, David Neal Cox told his attorneys he killed his sister-in-law Felicia Cox in 2007 and provided detailed instructions on where investigators could find her remains, said John Weddle, who is the district attorney for several northern Mississippi counties.

Weddle said David Neal Cox has been a longtime suspect in Felicia Cox’s disappearance.

“There is no indication that anyone other than Cox is responsible for Felicia Cox’s death,” Weddle told a news conference.

In a news release Monday, the state’s Office of Capital Post-Conviction Counsel said David Neal Cox “felt deep remorse and wanted to bring closure” to Felicia Cox’s family.

Weddle did not disclose the location Cox provided but said it is in Pontotoc County, Mississippi, where Felicia Cox was last seen. He said investigators are preparing to begin recovery efforts. Mississippi State University archaeology and anthropology experts are on hand to assist if the remains are located, Weddle said.

“We would like to stress that locating the remains of Felicia Cox is not a foregone conclusion,” the district attorney added. “We are hopeful that the information is accurate and that recovery efforts will be successful so that Felicia’s family may give her a proper burial.”

Felicia Cox’s daughter, Amber Miskelly, was present at the news conference, standing next to her husband. She was silent as Weddle spoke, but wiped away tears. Miskelly had just turned 18 when her mother went missing.

Felicia Cox, then 40, was last seen in July 2007 visiting her sister-in-law, Kim Kirk Cox, in Pontotoc. Kim Kirk Cox, who was married to David Neal Cox, was later killed by him in May 2010, the crime for which he was executed.

David Neal Cox, 50, was the first inmate executed in Mississippi in nine years. Before his execution, he abandoned all appeals and filed court papers calling himself “worthy of death” before the state Supreme Court set his execution date.

Cox pleaded guilty in 2012 to capital murder for the May 2010 shooting death of Kim Kirk Cox. He also pleaded guilty to multiple other charges, including sexual assault. A jury handed down the death sentence.

Weddle said Cox made the disclosure about his sister-in-law to his attorneys in late October and waived his attorney-client privilege after death. The information was presented to Weddle’s office two days after Cox’s execution, the district attorney said.

A New Jersey mom who admitted to killing her 5-month old daughter told police she did it in order to “fulfill the last of her sins, murder.”

Kristhie Alcazar, 26, made her first court appearance on Monday after she was charged with murder for stabbing her baby to death at a home in Penns Grove on Friday night. She faces a maximum sentence of life in prison if convicted.

A remorseless Alcazar reportedly told police “she would not change any of the events surrounding the murder,” according to an affidavit.

She also said she was of “sound mind and body” at the time.

According to the Salem County Prosecutor’s Office, police responded to a call with loud disturbances in the background Friday night.

When police arrived they found Alcazar arguing with another person as well as the body of the dead baby.

The infant had visible stab wounds to her chest, officials said. Multiple knives & evidence were recovered from the scene. The baby’s father was not home at the time of the homicide.

The infant’s cause of death was determined to be a homicide as a result of multiple stab wounds to the chest area.

She is due back in court again on Thursday.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — The Justice Department sued Texas over new redistricting maps Monday, saying the plans discriminate against the very Black and Latino voters who have fueled the state’s population boom.

The lawsuit, filed in the Western District of Texas, claims the Republican-controlled state violated part of the Voting Rights Act in drawing up new maps for its congressional delegation and state legislature. The case is the first legal action challenging a state’s maps from the Biden Justice Department during this redistricting cycle.

The lawsuit notes that the vast majority of Texas’ population growth over the past decade came from Black, Latino and Asian people, but the new maps that state Republicans drew doesn’t give any of these communities new opportunities to choose their own representatives.

Instead, the maps pack Black and Latino communities into bizarre-shaped districts — a Dallas-area one is referred to as a “seahorse” shape — while preserving safe seats for white Republicans.

“This is not the first time that Texas has acted to minimize the voting rights of its minority citizens,” Associate Attorney General Vanita Gupta said during a press conference with Attorney General Merrick Garland. “Decade after decade, courts have found that Texas has enacted redistricting plans that deliberately dilute the voting strength of Latino and Black voters and that violate the Voting Rights Act.”

The lawsuit cites several congressional districts where Republicans drew tortured lines to lower the share of Black and Latino voters in their party’s congressional districts.

In west Texas’ competitive 23rd district, the map trimmed out areas near El Paso and San Antonio to lower the share of Latino voting-age residents by 9%. In the Dallas area it pulled Black and Latino residents of the northwest suburbs out of the district of Rep. Beth Van Duyne, who narrowly won her reelection bid against a Democratic Black Latina candidate last year. In the Houston area, where the share of the white population is dwindling, the map kept six of 10 House districts as white-majority or plurality districts.

Texas has had to defend their maps in court after every redistricting process since the Voting Rights Act took effect in 1965, but this will be the first since a 2013 U.S. Supreme Court ruling gutted a provision of the Voting Rights Act that had required Texas and other states with a history of racial discrimination to have the Justice Department approve the maps.

Texas’s Attorney General, Ken Paxton, condemned the litigation as an intrusion by the Democratic administration. “The Department of Justice’s absurd lawsuit against our state is the Biden Administration’s latest ploy to control Texas voters,” Paton tweeted. “I am confident that our legislature’s redistricting decisions will be proven lawful, and this preposterous attempt to sway democracy will fail.”

The lawsuit will also play out during a changed legal landscape for redistricting challenges. The U.S. Supreme Court ruled in 2019 that it won’t referee partisan gerrymandering disputes — maps drawn to benefit a political party.

However, federal courts remain open to claims of racial gerrymandering. Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act prohibits mapmakers from diluting the voting power of minorities by scattering them among districts and preventing them from choosing their own candidates.

That’s what the lawsuit alleges Texas Republicans did. “The Legislature refused to recognize the State’s growing minority electorate,” the lawsuit alleges. “Although the Texas Congressional delegation expanded from 36 to 38 seats, Texas designed the two new seats to have Anglo voting majorities.”

CNN host Jake Tapper unloaded on Hollywood, the NBA, and more for what he said was turning a blind eye to human rights atrocities in China and instead taking the communist country's money hand over fist at each and every possible opportunity.

During Sunday's conclusion of CNN's "State of the Union," Tapper lauded the Women's Tennis Association for standing up for morality and speaking out against brutalities against its people — "something that few other athletic organizations or corporations in general have been willing to do: criticize the Chinese government and take serious steps to protest its brutality."

Tapper added that American businesses should follow the lead of the Women's Tennis Association — which canceled all events it was supposed to hold in China after tennis player Peng Shuai accused former Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli of sexual assault.

He then hit out at the NBA and International Olympic Committee — which are in the process of holding events and planning to hold the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics in February.

“Not only is the [International Olympic Committee] not raising its voice in solidarity in protest, the IOC is helping the Chinese government by providing cover,” Tapper added.

The IOC has previously insisted that it spoke to Shuai regarding the allegations, but Tapper said that more needs to be done.

"Yes, the Olympics are supposed to be free and without politics," he said. "But this is not about politics — the allegations against the Chinese government go far beyond its treatment of Shuai."

Tapper also pointed the finger at Hollywood and Disney in particular over its recent decision to film live-action "Mulan" in Xinjiang, where more than 1 million Uyghur Muslims have been placed in internment camps.

“The millionaires and billionaires of Hollywood and the NBA and the IOC and Wall Street are all so eager for Chinese cash, they’re pretending none of this is happening,” Tapper insisted. "Of course, Apple and Nike publicly claim to decry slave labor. But to be clear, the behavior we are seeing from U.S. corporations is not about a company surviving: It's about discontent with just hundreds of millions of dollars, desiring instead billions of dollars."

He concluded, “There is no amount of money that can buy enough soap to wash that blood off their hands.”

Drake won't be partaking in the upcoming Grammy Awards -- despite being nominated -- because the guy just pulled his submissions ... TMZ has confirmed.

The rapper has withdrawn his 2 Grammy nominations -- one for Best Rap Album in "Certified Lover Boy" and another for Best Rap Performance in "Way 2 Sexy" -- after having gotten nods about two weeks ago.

A source close to Drake tells us the decision was made by Drake and his management team, and the Grammys board respected it. Variety was first to report Drake's withdraw.

He's obviously no stranger to the award ceremony -- having racked up multiple wins over the years, including one in 2019 -- but Drake has also publicly noted he isn't a fan of accolades like this ... saying they're virtually meaningless.

He was also one of the first to speak up after The Weeknd was snubbed by the ceremony, saying, "I think we should stop allowing ourselves to be shocked every year by the disconnect between impactful music and these awards."

Of course, this move might have more to do with his involvement in Astroworld Fest than his stance on awards -- the guy's been relatively low-key since the tragedy, especially since he's been named in a few of the lawsuits that have surfaced thus far.

He did something similar with French Montana recently -- refusing to clear a song they did together because he didn't think it was appropriate in the wake of Astroworld.

Discovering Upcoming Artist Jacari

We are more than proud to introduce you to our best artist of the day: Jacari. The Los Angeles-based rapper immediately caught our attention with his upcoming banger “hate”. He started making music at eighteen years now at twenty-three he has grown a lot as an artist.

Some hip-hop artists offer authentic rap bars while being capable to send you into the future, a rare thing, let’s be honest.  Jacari enters this category as he is going to blow away the music industry with his authentic talent.

Jacari’s method is quite simple. He likes to isolate himself in a darkly dim-lit room with a single candle. Turning off all distractions, including his monetization-stream of income of YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook, Jacari likes to meditate in peaceful isolation.

There’s something very pure about this nature and attitude of a terrific singer, and the sincerity in his voice alone is enough to lift your spirits.

Follow Jacari on Instagram to stay updated on his latest activities.

When Isaac Cruz stepped in on just over one month's notice to face Gervonta "Tank" Davis, many fans and media members felt Davis was going to face a much tougher test than his originally planned bout with Rolando Romero. It's hard to imagine that was incorrect after Cruz was able to give Davis almost all he could handle for 12 rounds at Los Angeles' Staples Center before Davis was able to pull out a narrow unanimous decision win.

Davis was able to land many of his trademark power shots in a rare role as the taller man in the fight, but even as his heavy hooks and uppercuts landed, Cruz never appeared hurt. That may have been a product of Davis suffering a hand injury midway through the fight.

From the opening bell, Cruz fought as he almost always does: bulling his way forward to close the distance and keep his opponent from getting comfortable. Davis, a traditionally slow starter, made the necessary adjustments to Cruz's style beginning around the third round, dialing in with the uppercuts and using movement to keep Cruz from getting inside.

As the rounds wore on, whether a product of Cruz's chin, Davis' hand, or both, it was clear Cruz was not going anywhere and he began to turn the momentum of the fight his way, pulling increasingly close on the scorecards as both men continued to land clean, powerful strikes.

Davis was able to do just a little better in just enough rounds to earn the victory, including in what turned out to be the most important round of the fight, picking up Round 12, in a spot that likely saved him from a draw as the official scorecards read 116-112, 115-113, 115-113.

"I hurt my left hand in probably the sixth round but I've got to throw it," Davis said after the fight. "I have to go get it checked out. It's shaking but it is what it is, that's what comes in the sport."

Edging out the victory keeps Davis in a solid position in the lightweight division. After George Kambosos Jr. was able to upset Teofimo Lopez on Nov. 27 to capture three of the four recognized lightweight world championships and Devin Haney defended his WBC championship with a win over Joseph Diaz Jr. on Saturday, there are some big fights potentially on the table.

After dismissing the idea of a rematch with Cruz with a simple "hell no," Davis was asked whether he'd stay at lightweight or move back up to super lightweight for his next fight.

"Whatever the best opportunity is out there for me. I'm here for it, man," Davis said before being asked who in the lightweight division he'd most want to fight next. "All them guys are easy work. They're easy work, man. Easy work. I'm the top dog."

Cruz was only the second man to take Davis to the scorecards in Davis' professional career. The decision victory ended a streak of 16 consecutive stoppage wins for Davis.

For his part, Cruz did call for a rematch, claiming to have deserved the win. While a rematch seems unlikely, Davis made it clear that Cruz's gutsy effort had made an impression.

"He's a definite warrior," Davis said "Even though he didn't get the win, a star was born tonight."
