Radio legend Troi Torain (STAR) always delivers hard-hitting objective truth. As a culture critic he is vicious, as a businessman he is relentless, as a luminary he is un-matched.
Considered a radio pioneer by many, STAR has set precedents on the urban landscape and was recently inducted into News One's "Top 20 Black Radio Jockeys Of All Time."
STAR & BUC WILD made the national stage on MTV (1999) but it was their radio show on New York's Hot 97 and Power 105 (2000 - 2006) that secured their place in Hip-Hop history.
Torain's resume includes The Source magazine, MTV Networks, Hot 97, Power 104.1, Power 105.1, Pulse 87, Hip-Hop Weekly magazine, Vladtv, Thisis50, 100.3 The Beat, shot97.com and VH1 (The Gossip Game).

New track from Block 125 ft Bloody Jay off Blocks's upcoming No Sponsors 2 mixtape
50 Cent stopped by Baltimore radio station 92Q Jamz recently to visit with hosts AJ and DJ AngelBaby on the Rap Attack show.
The "I Get Money" hit maker talked about the theme of prosperity for his forthcoming Animal Ambition album, explains why he still makes street music even though he's financially set, the environment he grew up in that made him the person he is today, Jay Z and Puff Daddy remaining relevant, rapper's with expiration dates and Puff's "Big Homie" single being garbage.
“If the [artist] doesn't have the significant savvy with the business or with our actual culture, he'll be outta here," 50 said. "You'll see [Jay Z] around as long as he's been around. What’s he on, like 11 albums? Puff's still out there. He don't even need a record, 'cause he ain't got one. You know Puffy ain't got no music that you wanna hear. That 'Big Homie' sh*t is garbage. I’ma keep it all the way real with you, because the guy said, ‘Don’t worry about if I write rhymes, I write checks,’ and then sings to you. This is why we got rid of Mili Vanilli.”
The G-Unit Records CEO added that the next phase of his career will most likely focus on artist development.
"I'm not sure I wanna be around for a long time," he explained. "I want this project to be a success, 'Animal Ambition.' I wanna become the platform that helps support new young artists, to get out there and do what they're supposed to do."

A British man has developed an unusual phobia of the Kardashian clan.
24-year old Mike Amess of Exeter, England told The Mirror his irrational fear began when he watched Kim's sex tape with Ray J when he was seventeen.
I was raised Catholic and growing up, I tried to repress my sexuality and deny that I was gay. Loads of the boys at school were going on about how good Kim Kardashian's sex tape was. I thought I'd give it a watch in the hope it would turn me on. I downloaded the video and watched it secretly in my bedroom. But the sight of Kim writhing around with her huge bum and the sound of her horrible high-pitched wailing repulsed me. I really wanted to be aroused by her so I kept watching it but she made me feel more and more upset. By the end of the tape, I had burst into tears. The experience left me terrified and I never wanted to see Kim's face again. I have come to terms with my homosexuality now but my dread towards her has never left.
Amess claims the mere sight of Kim and the rest of the Kardashian women gives him extreme anxiety.
Just hearing the sound of the Kardashians' nasal voices or catching a glimpse of them on screen makes me feel nauseous and shaky. My hands get clammy, my breathing gets heavier and I start sweating. Sometimes, I get teary and want to retch. Kim and her sisters look and sound so similar. They make my stomach churn, I hate it. I dislike everything about them, especially their physical appearance. I don't understand how anyone could find them attractive. I can't stand their voices either. They're so whiny and shrill - it really gets under my skin. It makes life really difficult. Sometimes, I miss out on a lot of important news or celebrity gossip because I have to avoid anything which features the Kardashians
According to Amess, things really got bad when he accidentally saw Kanye West's "Bound 2" music video which features his fiancee Kim.
One day, I was lazing about on the sofa in front of the TV. I was skipping through music channels and that video came on. Seeing Kim naked, with her boobs bouncing about like that brought back memories of that horrendous sex tape. It was like reliving that incident all over again. Before I knew it, I was sweating like a pig and throwing up. When I hear 'Bound 2' on the radio now, I have to switch the station immediately
Amess says he's to embarrassed to see a doctor about his problem. To make matters worse his friends find it funny.
Once, my friend put a picture of Kim Kardashian on his bathroom door so I couldn't go to the loo all night. It was unbearable! "Another time, one of my mates got drunk at a party and chased after me with a photo of Kim's 'Belfie' on his mobile phone. They find it hilarious but they don't realise how traumatic it is for me. I wish I wasn't scared of the Kardashians
Hilarious...

Scandal star Columbus Short is facing nasty allegations from his wife Toure Tanee McCall.
McCall sought and received a restraining order against her husband after he reportedly put a knife to her throat and threatened murder/suicide on April 7.
According to TMZ, the incident began when Short entered the couple's bedroom with a bottle of wine and acted like he was going to hit his wife with it. After that he poured the wine on her. He then got a kitchen knife and penned Toure on their couch and began to choke her. Short allegedly told her they were going to play a game of "Truth or Truth."
Short began to rattle off a list of men's names he suspected Toure had affairs with. He told her if she lied he would stab her in the leg.
After Toure denied sleeping with any of the men, Short is accused of putting a knife to her throat and threatening to kill them both.
Toure managed to get to her car and escape, but not before Short allegedly slashed one of her tires.
On Tuesday, April 15, Toure filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences and asked for sole custody of their 2-year-old daughter. The restraining order required Short to move out of their home. Police were present today to make sure things went smoothly.
The April 7 incident is the third domestic violence situation this year between Short and Toure. In February, he reportedly attacked his wife and was charged with spousal battery and child abuse for committing the act in front of their 2-year old daughter and his 10-year old son. He plead not guilty.
Two weeks later a police report was filed after Short pushed Toure during an argument.
