Now that 50 Cent is pretty much the only G-Unit member still signed with Interscope Records (as we previously reported Tony Yayo and Lloyd Banks were dropped by the label), he is planning to release their upcoming solo albums on his own, independently that is. With the albums coming this summer some time, they will be the first by the two G-Unit members since they departed Interscope.
"Everybody all knows, me and [Lloyd] Banks are not on Interscope anymore," Yayo explained in a recent interview. "We're not on a major anymore. Me and Banks are dropping two albums in the summer independently, through a deal that 50 [Cent] is conjuring up for us. It feels good to know that I have no red tape put on anything...If I had to deal with Interscope, I'd have to deal with the label and they'd have to sign off. Now I can do what I want. It's exciting to work with new guys. Some of these kids shooting video are [teenagers]. It's new energy. A lot of these labels need new energy - people who are willing to bust they butt, go in and do what they've got to do.

He doesn’t exactly have the image of needing protection but the fearful rapper shows he’s not invincible and is like any one of us. Well, in that we get scared too at least.
The In Da Club singer said: ‘I spend $20,000 a week on security. My home is surrounded by cameras.
‘You get all these crazy lawsuits and I need cameras to check on things.’
Well, yeah 50 Cent. We agree. But wouldn’t you rather jet of to Dubai with all that money?

Memphis Bleek recently spoke to AllHipHop and had an interesting take on a couple of 2009's most controversial and talked about events.
In his mind the whole Taylor Swift/Kanye West VMA incident had to be staged. He can't imagine security letting Yeezy walk around with a bottle of Henny then storm the stage without being arrested.
He also thought the Eminem/Bruno situation was strange. Says he couldn't have let Bruno put his sack in his face like that.

In the middle of his current visit to the UK, rapper Jay-Z has spoken of his love for Amy Winehouse’s music.
Talking to Radio 1's Newsbeat, Jigga claimed that Wino has helped British artists become more credible and successful.
"There's a strong push coming out of London right now which is great,” said Jay. “It's been coming ever since, I guess, Amy Winehouse. I mean always, but I think Amy, this resurgence was ushered in by Amy, that's how I see it.”
Jay-Z went on to admit that Tears Dry On Their Own is his favourite Amy track, but went on to say: "I'm just praying she doesn't turn into Lauryn Hill and we never get another album.”

Fantasia Barrino is under a self-imposed lockdown -- after the "American Idol" champ received a threatening letter.
It all started last night at the Pantages Theater in L.A. -- Fantasia was reading her fan mail after a performance of "The Color Purple."
Fantasia's manager tells us Barrino became alarmed over a disturbing letter loaded with racial slurs -- including the n-word -- and a line that read, "go back where you came from and die."
We're told the person who wrote the letter claims he used to work as a security guard for Fox while Fantasia was on "A.I."
Fantasia's manager tells us the singer immediately contacted theater security -- which then contacted the LAPD.
In the meantime, we're told the theater has "beefed up" security around Fantasia -- and all over the venue -- and will be screening anything sent to Barrino's dressing room before it gets to her.
Fantasia tells TMZ, "I will not be defeated by one isolated person's hatred."

Usher stopped by Tim Westwood's radio show to clarify what the name of his album 'Raymond vs Raymond' means and why the release date was pushed back.
According to Usher it has nothing to do with his divorce and everything to do with both sides of who he is as a person.
He said to expect nothing less than a great album.
He also talked about the impact Michael Jackson had on his life and career.
