Walter Slonopas had seen enough. After the company he worked for, Contech Casting LLC in Clarksville, Tenn issued him the number 666 for the third time on documents he quit, calling the number a satanic omen.
He was first issued an ID badge ending with the number when he was hired by the company in April 2011. He complained and received a new number. Several months later the company changed it's payroll system and Slonopas was again given ID that contained the number. He quit, but later returned to work after the company apologized. The final straw for Slonopas came when he received his most recent W-2 form which also included the number 666.
"I cannot accept this number. If you accept that number, you sell your soul to the devil," Slonopas told ABC News.
666 is considered the Number of the Beast by several religions. It is referred to in the Bible, in Chapter 13 of the New Testament Book of Revelation.
Slonopas says if he is not issued a new W-2 with a different number he won't file his taxes.
Contech Casting LLC wants Slonopas to come back to work for them. They have apologized again, blaming the W-2 error on a company outside the firm that generates the tax forms by computer.
"We are certainly sorry he was put through all this," said Robert LaCourciere, the vice president of sales and marketing for Contech Casting's parent company, Revstone Transportation Group . "We hope he does contact us because we'd love to have him back at work."
If you were Slonopas would you go back to work for this company?
