Academy Award-winning director Ron Howard gives us a wonderful look at Jay Z's inaugural 2012 "Made In America" festival in his new documentary.
We get a behind the scenes look at artists who participated in the 2-day event like Odd Future, Jill Scott, Rita Ora, Janelle Monae, Skrillex, Pearl Jam, Gary Clarke Jr., Run DMC, Santigold, Kanye West and Jay Z himself.
"Made in America is a bigger idea than just a concert," Jay Z says. "After these great tragedies, creativity is born, and I feel we are in that period right now, where people are pulling themselves up by the bootstrap and saying 'Okay, I'm going to go out and do this, and we're gonna do it our way. I believe every human being has genius level talent. There are no chosen ones. God has given every single person a genius level talent. You just have to find what it is that you are great at and tap into it."
Howard captures footage of Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder, Mayor Michael Nutter and food vendor Nicole Zalewski talking about the economic impact the festival will have on the city of Philadelphia

Prince releases a new music video for his song "Breakfast Can Wait." The Purple One doesn't make an appearance in the clip. Instead he gave all creative control to 18-year old Danielle Curiel, who directs and stars as Prince in the video.
"Prince wanted this video to be a creative encounter, offering fresh, young talent [the chance] to 'visualize' together," a spokeswoman for Prince told Pop & Hiss. "He was there for the shoot and approved the treatment, but gave all control to this 18-year-old. There were no managers, agents [or] label people there -- just young talent collaborating for a very unique experience."
Azealia Banksaka Yung Rapunxelwas one of the featured artists at the BBC Radio 1Xtra Live 2013 music festival on Thursday at the Leeds Arena. The Harlem, New York star on the rise performed "ATM Jam," "1991" “Liquorice,” "Esta Noche" and "212" during her 20-minute set.

During his recent radio tour, rising Queens rapper Yung Fliiboy took an opportunity to freestyle to Notorious BIG's "Hypnotize" beat. Freestyling to such a legendary beat is a big risk for a rapper...but Fliiboy pulled it off without a hitch! As you can see from the video, Fliiboy did the freestyle "off the dome" (without cheat sheets or notes) and flowed nicely!
In addition to the freestyle -- which premiered exclusively on Da Matrix Studios' "Booths & Rooftops" -- Fliiboy spoke to DJ HD of SUNY Old Westbury's OWWR Radio on "The Cool Kids Show," where he described what sets him apart from his contemporaries.

About Liberate: In attempt to cultivate culture, we ought to liberate ourselves of yesterday's troubles and focus on progression. There is relevance in how we seek internal solutions to external mishaps. Here we witness, in film, a stride over adversity and, in poetry, the overcoming of the battle between sustaining dream-ability and assailing adversity. Before we impact the status quo of modern culture, we must address responsibilities in our own space. In order to liberate, we must rid our selves of all ill-wills internally. In order to liberate, we must make decisions that not only benefits the self but also the community. Even against opposition we must stay true to doing what is necessary.
