BOSTON (AP) — The founder of a Boston nonprofit established to reduce violence in the city & her husband, used donations to the organization to enrich themselves, federal prosecutors said in a multicount indictment.
Monica Cannon-Grant, 41, & her husband Clark Grant, 38, of Taunton, used Violence in Boston Inc. funds to pay for personal expenses including, hotels, car rentals, auto repairs, restaurant meals, nail salons & personal travel.
They also fraudulently applied for federal Pandemic Unemployment Assistance benefits that they knew they were not eligible to receive because they had other sources of income at the time, and lied to a mortgage lender by saying Violence in Boston’s assets were their own to help pay for mortgage fees and closing costs, prosecutors said.
The couple maintained exclusive control over organization finances & did not disclose to other Violence in Boston directors, bookkeepers, or financial auditors that they had used the funds for their own purposes.
Both were charged in an 18-count indictment with wire fraud, conspiracy, and making false statements to a mortgage lending business. Cannon-Grant also faces a mail fraud count.
Cannon-Grant is scheduled to appear in federal court in Boston on Tuesday. Her attorney, Robert Goldstein, said he expects her to be vindicated.

Cold Boii, born Preston Miles, is a multi-talented artist hailing from Little Rock, Arkansas. Cold Boii hits the scene heavily and shows no signs of slowing down.
Cold Boii grew up with a heavy influence on music. His music career is inspired by his mother, a gospel singer, and father, Walter Miles, a legendary Blues Disk Jockey. Some of the greats like Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, James Brown, Micheal Jackson, and 2 Pac, have influenced his musical career and sound.
Cold Boii is known for his strong cadence and meaningful delivery every time the mic enters his hands. After listening to Pimp C's "Pocket Full Of Stones" while hanging out with his older brother, he knew Hip Hop was his love language, and he never turned back.
Growing up in the Urban Community of Little Rock during the 80s and '90s, Cold Boii had a close view into what the drug epidemic and the rise of gang violence did to the community, so he leaned on music to escape his reality.
Creating music as a form of escapism is Cold Boii's goal to enter the music industry. "I know I can't heal the whole world, but I want to be at least the one to shift the energy, if only for a minute," he says,
On March 24th, 2022, Cold Boii is set to release his latest mixtape, "Natural State of Mind." He is bringing energy, lyrical finesse, and overall good vibes. Like his single "Hittin," inspired by James Brown, this project is designed for the people to get on up, dance, and feel good, a vibe ready to take the summer by storm. He is also working on his EP, Cold Shoulders, which will be released in May 2022.

MURRAY, Utah (ABC4) – Two men who were previously charged with raping a 14-year-old girl along with another man who filmed the incident were sentenced to 48 months of probation on March 9 as a reduction of their original sentence of 1 to 15 years in Utah State Prison.
The men were initially charged on Sept. 9 of 2017 after the victim allegedly snuck out during a sleepover to meet up with the men, as arranged on Snapchat. From there, they went to a mall parking lot, a hookah bar & a party at home. She told police that the “last thing she remembered was leaving the party & being in the back seat of the car & 1 of the males was kissing her & she told him to stop.”
Officers were later informed that a video had been shot of 2 of the 3 men raping the girl. According to court records, the victim was unconscious throughout most of the incident.
Following a police investigation, Lecalire Donjim “LA”, 29, & his brother Richard Djassera, 26, were arrested. Djassera admitted to filming Donjim & “Dojim’s friend” forcing themselves onto the victim because he “thought it was funny.”
Later information confirmed the arrest of the 3 men on 2 counts of aggravated sexual assault, a first-degree felony. Djassera additionally received 4 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, a second-degree felony.
Following plea deals that were worked out between the 3 men & law enforcement officials, their prison sentence was officially suspended & replaced by a probation sentence after being incarcerated for three-and-a-half years.
Deer Park, Victoria, Australia — Birthed out of a DJ set which is on this album (You Lost my Dunny Roll DJ Mix), all the vocals were recorded on either Rap Fame or Voloco, which are vocal apps on the App Store. It can’t be T. Ledger’s best album for that reason, but it’s still up there I think with T. Ledger’s other work conceptually.
Once T. Ledger made the Shine instrumental, he did a massive DJ set at DJ Aye and Sebastian Porteous’s house, recorded it and then had the bright idea to continue on the momentum and release another bloody album. Without his trusty laptop, which has been broken even during a lot of the previous year’s work, which now has no charger, he went back to recording vocals on vocal software on his phone, and went back to writing lyrics for most of the work on the album.
The lyrical content is conceptually and lyrically up there with his best lyrical work on previous content, showcased on the songs Seasons Go and Zap Out of Reality. Propane is more a joke track and should be taken with a grain of salt. Butterfly Effect deals with heavy themes and fits with what was said on Zap Out of Reality.
Overall the album is quite enjoyable and seamless in ways; more complete than his last effort which wasn’t bad to say the least. He isn’t taking the easy way out rapping and singing with the phone; it’s understandable in his current situation. Overall, the album is worth your time. This boy ain’t over yet; he’s releasing upwards of four albums by August!
T. Ledger makes the most out of phone technology and the DJ mix at the end a treat for fans of his journey. He’s trying his hardest to give his fans and anyone who stumbles on his discography a great experience and trying his best to put out quality every release. Which is a lot to be frank.
Support T. Ledger! He needs a lot in music gear and tech to release another Magnus opus and he will in the future, without a doubt! He’s heading into his fourth year of music and he wants everyone to follow him to his next classic! Let’s see what he does next.

NEW YORK CITY (WABC) - ATF agents in Washington, D.C. have arrested the suspect wanted for allegedly stalking homeless men sleeping on the streets of New York City and D.C.
The suspect fatally shot 2 people & wounded 3 more in less than 2 weeks.
He was picked up in southeast Washington early Tuesday morning.
A law enforcement source tells ABC News there is a high degree of confidence the man seen in surveillance photos & videos is the man arrested.
He was taken into custody in Washington, D.C.'s southeast section after allegedly shooting at least 5 homeless men & killing 2 of them in both DC & New York.
Mayor Eric Adams was in D.C. before the arrest & talked about the importance of apprehending the suspect quickly.
"We don't want to lose another resident in this city, in New York, or anywhere else. This person is carrying out a premeditated act of shooting innocent people," Adams said.
Police say ballistic evidence actually linked the same gun to all five shootings.
The DC Police Department's Head of the Homicide Unit, Captain Kevin Kentish, is credited with making the connection between the New York City and DC incidents.
Kintish, a native of Queens, New York, "happened to be scrolling through social media and saw the image of the NYC suspect," Chief of the Metropolitan Police Department Robert Contee III said. "During that review, he took that image to his team, based upon the similarities, came together with ATF & forensically connected these cases."
The NYPD says that link was critical & together, the 2 departments & ATF had a trove of clear images and video of the killer.
A $70,000 reward was offered for information leading to an arrest; $25,000 in NYC, $25,000 in DC & $20,000 from ATF. It's not yet known if anyone will claim the reward money.

NEW YORK (AP) — A search was underway Monday for a gunman who has been stalking homeless men sleeping on the streets of Washington, D.C., & New York City, fatally shooting 2 people & wounding 3 more in less than 2 weeks.
Police released surveillance photographs of the suspected gunman late Sunday, including 1 in which the hooded man can be seen holding a pistol in a blue glove.
The killer’s motive — if any — was unknown & authorities turned their attention Monday to trying to offer what protections they could to homeless people who might become targets.
New York Mayor Eric Adams said police officers & homeless outreach teams would focus on finding unhoused people in the subways & other locations & would urge them to seek refuge at city-owned shelters.
“The case is a clear & horrific intentional act of taking the life of someone, it appears, because he was homeless,” Adams said at a news conference late Sunday. “2 individuals were shot while sleeping on the streets, not committing a crime but sleeping on the streets.”
In Washington, city outreach workers were passing out flyers among the homeless population, urging people to “be vigilant” and featuring multiple pictures of the suspect.
“Our shelters have space and are ready to welcome residents needing a place to stay,” the flyers stated.
The latest violence underscored the urgency to get the homeless off the streets & into safe housing, said Jacquelyn Simone, the policy director for the Coalition for the Homeless in New York City.
“The reason that these people were attacked is because they didn’t have that safety of permanent housing,” she said. “And that’s why we really need to use these tragedies as an opportunity to redouble our efforts to ensure that people have a better option than the streets where they’re exposed to both the elements as well as people who might wish to do them harm.”
Simone & other advocates for the homeless called on the city to use vacant hotel rooms for temporary shelter for those who would rather stay on the streets rather than opt in dormitory-style housing.
The earliest known shooting happened at around 4 a.m. on March 3 in Washington D.C., police said, when a man was shot & wounded in the city’s Northeast section. A second man was wounded on March 8, just before 1:30 a.m.
At 3 a.m. the next day, March 9, police & firefighters found a dead man inside a burning tent. A subsequent autopsy revealed that the man had died of multiple stab & gunshot wounds.
The killer then apparently traveled north to New York City.
At 4:30 a.m. Saturday, a 38-year-old man sleeping on the street in Manhattan not far from the entrance to the Holland Tunnel was shot in his right arm as he slept.
The victim screamed & the gunman fled.
About 90 minutes later, the gunman fatally shot another man on Lafayette Street in SoHo. The man’s body was found in his sleeping bag just before 5 p.m. Saturday.

God knows I try not to take most of what Candace Owens seriously because I believe she intentionally pushes buttons for clout. But one of her recent tweets is beyond the pale.
"Absolutely appalling the way Russians are being treated in America and abroad," she wrote. "That our leaders and government institutions are allowing for ... and at times calling for this discrimination following their global "black lives matter" hysteria is quite telling. Russian lives matter."
The Russian Embassy in USA approved of this message and retweeted it from their official Twitter account.
Russian President Vladimir Putin's armed forces are currently committing war crimes in Ukraine. There's worldwide condemnation of his actions ... not the Russian people. Many of whom oppose their country's invasion of Ukraine.
Thoughts?
Absolutely appalling the way Russians are being treated in America and abroad. That our leaders and government institutions are allowing for—and at times calling for this discrimination following their global “black lives matter” hysteria is quite telling.
