Aaron McGrunder, the creator of the popular animated television show The Boondocks, is back with a program that is already catching flack before it even airs.
Black Jesus is a new comedy set to air on Adult Swim. Gerald 'Slink' Johnson stars as the son of God. He lives in Compton, drinks alcohol and curses like a sailor.
In one scene from the the trailer Jesus asks his reluctant followers, "Do y'all have any f*cking faith bruh?"
In another scene he tells a man, "You get money f*cking with me."
An organization called One Million Moms is blasting the show as "blasphemous." They're asking people not to watch it and encouraging their members to email Turner Broadcasting System, Inc to urge them to pull the show before it airs.
Adult Swim plans to blaspheme Jesus on a weekly basis. This mockery will be similar to "South Park" and "Family Guy," but much worse since the entire program will be based on lies about Christianity.
1MM will defend our Savior because He is Holy! Adult Swim is obviously not a family network, and this program is set to air later in the evening when children should be asleep, but that is no excuse. Adult Swim has crossed the line by belittling the Christian religion with foul jokes.
We need to send a loud and clear message to Adult Swim, its owner Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. (a Time Warner Company), and all potential advertisers of "Black Jesus" that this kind of programming is insulting and completely unacceptable. Adult Swim is not ridiculing any other religion currently and wouldn't dream of mocking Mohammed or Muslims.
If we speak with one voice now, we can keep this program from ever seeing the light of day. Christians must take a stand and not be silent. Networks like Adult Swim continue to mock Christianity, and we will not stand for it. Christians should no longer sit idly by and allow this blasphemy to continue without speaking up in protest. "Black Jesus" is anoher attempt to distort the truth about Christianity. There is power in numbers! Forward this to everyone you know in a fight to keep this show off the air.
The show also stars Charlie Murphy and John Witherspoon. Murphy plays Vic in the series. He's not buying what Black Jesus is selling.
"He ain't Jesus Christ," he tells Witherspoon's character, Lloyd. "He's just some crazy dude who thinks he's Jesus.
Plot:
A TV series finds Jesus living in present day Compton, CA on a daily mission to spread love and kindness throughout the neighborhood with the help of his small but loyal group of downtrodden followers.
Black Jesus airs August 7 at 11:00 pm ET/ 10:00 pm CT,

Lil Scrappy went off on the staff at Nickelodeon Suites Resort in Orlando, Florida on Wednesday, July 23.
The resort was in the middle of a contest where they pick children out of the audience to participate. The Love & Hip Hop star walks out on stage during the middle of it to confront a woman conducting the show.
"I'm sorry sir, we're in the middle of a show. If you could just head right over there," she tells him.
Scrappy appears agitated and says something that is inaudible on the video of the incident, but Momma Dee told TMZ that her son said, "You need to pick my daughter. This is some racist-ass sh*t."
According to Momma Dee, Scrappy's 9-year old daughter Emani was repeatedly passed over in favor of white kids.
The person who shot the video agreed with the rapper's version of events.
A rep for the resort denied the racism accusation, telling TMZ kids must follow specific protocol. They went on to say that every child, no matter their race, national origin, sex, religion or color gets equal treatment and that Emani was allowed to participate.

I'm not compromising my vision for it. Opponents on capital punishment will no doubt renew their argument against it after a botched execution took place Wednesday, July 24, in Arizona.
Joseph Rudolph Wood was scheduled to die by lethal injection. He was declared dead at 3:59 PM, an hour and fifty seven minutes after the execution began.
Associated Press reporter Astrid Galvan witnessed the execution. She said Wood was administered a pain killer and sedative, after which he started gasping for air. The inmate reportedly gasped at least 600 time over the next hour and 40 minutes.
Woods lawyers filed emergency appeals with state and federal courts asking that the execution be stopped, but were denied.
Jeanne Brown, left, had a sister and father murdered by Joseph Rudolph Wood
Woods was convicted in the shooting deaths of estranged girlfriend Debra Dietz, 29, and her father, Gene Dietz, 55, at their auto repair shop in Tuscon in 1989. On the days of the murders he went to the shop and waited for Gene to get off of a phone call. Gene then shot him in the chest with a revolver and smiled.
Debra, who was frantically trying to call for help, was grabbed by throat by Wood who told her, "I told you I was going to do it. I have to kill you," according to a witness.
Gene Dietz never approved of his daughter's relationship with Wood because he was abusive. At the time of her death Debra had an order of protection against him.
He made a statement about finding Jesus prior to the beginning of his execution, but did not apologize to the victim's family members who were there.
"I take comfort knowing today my pain stops, and I said a prayer that on this or any other day you may find peace in all of your hearts and may God forgive you all."
Wood then turned his head towards the family members and smiled. A gesture that only angered them more, according to the Associated Press.
"He's the one that pulled the trigger. This man conducted a horrifying murder and you guys are going, 'let's worry about the drugs,'" said Richard Brown, the brother-in-law of Debbie Dietz. "Why didn't they give him a bullet? Why didn't we give him Drano? We didn't give him the drugs. The state gave him the drugs and he went to sleep and that was it. He smiled and laughed at us and went to sleep. So all you people that think that these drugs are bad, the hell with you guys."
"Everybody here from what I heard said it was excruciating," said Jeanne Brown, whose father and sister were murdered. "You don't know what excruciating is. What's excruciating is seeing your dad lying there in a pool of blood. Seeing your sister lying there in a pool pf blood. that's excruciating."
While defense lawyer Dale Baich called the execution "botched," state Department of Corrections Director Charles Ryan said all procedures were carried out correctly.
"Throughout this execution, I conferred and collaborated with our IV team members and was assured unequivocally that the inmate was comatose and never in pain or distress."
Arizona Governor Jan Brewer
Arizona Governor Jan Brewer said a full review of the state's execution process will be ordered. However, she was satisfied with the way Wood's was handled.
"One thing is certain, however," Brewer's statement read, "Wood died in a lawful manner and by eyewitness and medical accounts he did not suffer. This is in stark comparison to the gruesome, vicious suffering that he inflicted on his two victims - and the lifetime of suffering he has caused their family."
