"When we get into Dream School, you watch those kids make those adjustments right there in front of you," 50 Cent told Vibe recently. "These kids would be out of school but it's one of those scenarios where they're receiving the opportunity they wouldn't under any other circumstances. You see this television show when it's a different, full life opportunity for everyone on it. Reality television doesn't stand for that. It's a huge relevance that's obvious to the show with 3,030,000 kids in America dropping out [of high school] a year. Every 26 seconds, someone drops out. Every day, 8,300 people drop out."

Attorney Gloria Allred
“I wanted them to get involved in debate because I wanted them to understand how to resolve conflict,” Allred told Forbes. ”This season, we see more emotion,” said executive producer Andrew Jameson. “These are students who really came together and bonded. … This took it to another level.”
Graffiti Artist & Muralist Don Rimx
“What doesn’t work for our brand, what audiences don’t want to see, are the types of storytelling where you know what the producers are doing but it’s very entertaining anyway,” said Sarah Barnett, president of SundanceTV. ‘That works very well in other contexts, but it doesn’t work for us. There’s something about being authentic. But at the same time, we don’t want it to feel like broccoli TV because that’s just not effective.”
