Video After The Jump

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (News9) — A man faces assault charges in Chattanooga after police say he punched a man in the head during church services on Sunday.

This happened at the Olivet Baptist Church at 740 East Martin Luther King Boulevard.

As Pastor Kevin Adams was delivering a service, video from a since-deleted Facebook feed shows a man walking up to a man in the front row of pews and hit him in the head.

Police later identified that man as 34-year-old Marcus Trammell Williams.

An affidavit we obtained say the man who was punched told officers that Williams had threatened him at the church a few months ago because he thought the man had insulted his mother.

The affidavit says the man said Trammell "walked up on me and swing at me for no reason."

The affidavit says Williams would not speak to investigators on the scene.

He was later arrested and charged with assault.

Pastor Kevin Adams addressed the incident on his Facebook page later on Sunday:
