The West Coast rap legend will be honored Saturday, September 17, during the taping of the 11th annual BET Hip Hop Awards when he receives the "I Am Hip Hop" award.
Past honorees include LL Cool J, Scarface, Grandmaster Flash, KRS-One, Russell Simmons, Ice Cube, Salt-N-Pepa, Rakim, MC Lyte and Doug E. Fresh.
The show will air October 4th on BET.
DJ Khaled will host the event. Gucci Mane, Desiigner, Jidenna, T.I., Young Thug and T.I. will perform.
