Hip Hop pioneers Public Enemy will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with the class of 2013 according to Rolling Stone.
Public Enemy are only the fourth hip-hop act to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They join Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five (2007), Run-D.M.C. (2009) and the Beastie Boys (2011).
P.E., led by emcee Chuck D and hype man Flavor Flav are known for their politically charged songs and albums. Their first three albums, 1987's Yo! Bum Rush the Show, 1988's It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back and 1990's Fear of a Black Planet were all named to Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list.
Donna Summer
Joining P.E. in the 2013 class are Rush, Heart and Randy Newman. As well as the late Donna Summer and Albert King. Lou Adler and Quincy Jones will both receive the Ahmet Ertegun Award for non-performers.
