Stanley Wilson Jr. is nursing a bullet wound and holding 2016's biggest "L," after being shot while trying to break into a Portland, Oregon home while butt naked.
KGW reports that the incident occurred Wednesday, June 22. The homeowner told police he spotted Wilson Jr. trying to break in through a back window and opened fire.
Cops found the intruder in a water fountain in the homeowner's backyard. He was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the stomach.
Wilson Jr. is a former member of the Detroit Lions. The team drafted him to play cornerback in the third round of the 2005 draft out of Stanford. He was released in 2008 and never played professional football again.
Wilson Jr. is a second generation NFL player. His father Stanley Wilson Sr. was a running back for the Cincinnati Bengals from 1983-1988.
The elder Wilson is remembered for being found by a Bengals' coach in the middle of a cocaine binge prior to the team's Super Bowl XXIII game in 1989.
He was banned by the league for violating it's drug policy for the third time.
In 1999, Wilson Sr., was sentenced to 22-years in prison for stealing $130,000 worth of valuables from a Beverly Hills, California home.
Unfortunately, his 33-year old son appears to be headed down a similar path.
According to KGW, Wilson Jr. has been charged with first-degree burglary, and first- and second-degree trespassing for this week's attempted break in. He'll appear in court once he is released from the hospital.
