Beef Has Ended With Budden and Raekwon

HipHopWired Reports Although swords were drawn and strikes were made, the forces have decided to put their guns down, metaphorically speaking, as Raekwon has confirmed his wish to put an end to their on-going beef. Recently, the Chef stated that he was ready to finally put the nail in the coffin and withdraw from the current issue with the Jersey rapper that seemed to escalate and was heading for the worse after an associate of Raekwon allegedly struck Budden and left him with an ice pack and his arm in a sling. Through a discussion with Charlamagne on radio station 100.3 The Beat in Philadelphia, the Wu Tang member elaborated his reasons for stepping away from the war: "My thing is this, it's like, enough is enough. You know what I mean? Enough is enough. I'm on the road swallowing a lot you know, 'cause I'm a business man. I'm really trying to escape that negativity world. Because at the end of the day I'ma lose.” Budden, who had issued a challenge for the two to have a square dance also stated that he was no longer entangling himself with this ongoing feud and stated that he only wants to move forward from here on a positive note. He added that his group, Slaughterhouse, is built to promoting peace and a handshake between the two was meant for business purposes and looking into the future. Raekwon is still in the kitchen prepping the finishing touches on his sequel to his 1995 classic, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, which is set for release on September 8. Along with this, fellow member Ghostface confirmed a joint effort and album between the two along with Method Man. Budden has recently released his group album, Slaughterhouse along with his solo EP, The Escape Route. He is currently working on his third official album, The Great Escape, which should hit shelves before the close of 2009. This is both a positive and a negative in the realm of Hip-Hop. On one side of the fence, it is good to see that things did not become violent to the point where a life could have been potentially taken. On the other hand, this just goes to show and prove the purpose of beef nowadays and the promotion of oneself. At the end of the day, this was utterly pointless and fans weren't even left with diss tracks to go back to, just a whole bunch of video with dudes trying to further establish how tough they were.

Joe Budden Confronted By Raekwon Backstage At 'Rock The Bells' Gets Punched In The Eye

Ok here's the deal. Joe Budden was streaming live backstage at the 'Rock The Bells' concert. All of a sudden Raekwon bursts in with a few goons to confront Joe about something that was said in his apology video. The stream cuts off for a few minutes. When it comes back on Joe Budden is holding a cold compress to his eye after being punched by one of Raekwon's goons. The whole thing was caught on film by Rae's crew so the footage should be out real soon...Damn

Royce da 5′9″ Responds to J-Hood Diss, “I’ma Take his Fuckin’ Head Off”

XXL Reports While the war of words between Slaughterhouse and D-Block defector J-Hood has recently cooled off, Royce da 5’9″ says the dispute is far from resolved. In a recent interview with XXLMag.com, Nickel-Nine denied that there’d be any more lyrical fire from his four-man super group, but insisted that the beef could leak off of the wax. “We’re not going to respond to him because he’s a bum… just like Ransom,” Royce said, who’s digital EP The Revival dropped yesterday (July 7). “He might want to shut his fucking mouth. Detroit niggas don’t play that shit.” Hood has been taking shots at the entire Slaughterhouse crew for the past few months, name-calling and levying threats on street DVDs. “I’m all for the battle rapping, but when you get to talking about what you’re going to do… I don’t want to fucking hear that,” Royce continued. “I move around New York how I feel. That nigga can’t step a fucking pinky toe in Detroit.” “He can say what he wanna say,” he added, “but if he brings that shit anywhere near my circumference, I’ma take his fucking head off.” The dispute began late last year, when J-Hood took exception to a Royce punchline. He told hiphopbeef.com the offending quip was, “I’m the one, really though/you just a J-Hood gun video.” The Yonkers MC clapped back with “Watch What You Say,” also dissing Jim Jones, 50 Cent and Jadakiss. In April, Royce responded with his rendition of Red Café’s “Hottest In The Hood” followed by partner-in-rhyme Crooked I’s “Slaughterhouse is a Big Deal.” Next for Royce is the debut disc from his group , Slaughterhouse scheduled for an August 11 release. His fifth solo LP, Street Hop, is set to drop in September. –John Kennedy

Slaughterhouse Album Pushed Back A Month

The highly anticipated album by Hip-Hop collective Slaughterhouse has been pushed back to August 11, over a month from its original date. The group, comprised of Joell Ortiz, Joe Budden, Royce Da 5’ 9” and Crooked I, had a release date in early July, but that is no more. Royce said that the group wanted more time to put into set up and marketing with its label E1. “Even though this [group] is a new way of doing business, we still gotta stick to the old school script when it comes time to market this, to have the proper time to set up a record,” Royce told AllHipHop.com. “We’re not idiots. We understand the concept of labels throwing something against the wall and seeing if it sticks. That’s not what we are in business to do. We’re still in the business of selling records, because we feel we have a great product to present to the public.” The Detroit rapper also stated that the lyrics and the music came together in a way that made them want to generate maximum interest in the self-titled debut. “All the push back has to do [with] is the set up. It’s great music,” Royce continued. “My biggest concern with making the project is us picking the best beats possible. Rhyming is there. The best music possible is what I was always concerned with, that’s why a lot of songs came out so good.” Joell Ortiz, a Brooklyn-bred artist, said that the process of creating the album was arduous, yet fun. “It was definitely the busiest session I had ever seen in my life,” Ortiz said. “To come out with the product that we do have, was ridiculous.” The group may ad another song to round off the album, but noted that it was close to completion and the delay had nothing to do with the music.
