Video After The Jump
More information is starting to come in about U.S. journalist James Foley, who was kidnapped and later beheaded by ISIS in Iraq.
The 40-year old was originally kidnapped in Syria In 2012. The video of his killing was sent out on Tuesday, August, 19.
U.S. Special Forces attempted to rescue Foley and other hostages earlier this summer in Syria, but failed.
President Obama spoke about Foley's death and his disgust for Isis during a press conference on Wednesday, August 20.
"A group like ISIL has no place in the 21st century," Obama said, using the acronym by which the militant group is also known. "They have rampaged across cities and villages killing innocent, unarmed civilians in cowardly acts of violence. They abduct women and children and subject them to torture and rape and slavery ... ISIL has no ideology of any value to human beings."
Prior to murdering Foley, ISIS attempted to collect a ransom of $132.5 million from his family and employer, the Global Post, according to CNN.
