Damon Dash seemed to have the world in the palm of his hands at one point. As one of the founders of Roc-A-Fella Records, along with Jay Z and Kareem "Biggs" Burke, Dash was filthy rich but also brash and arrogant in some people's opinion.

Fast forward nearly a decade. Jay Z is flourishing while Burke is doing time in prison for his involvement in a drug operation and Dash is reportedly in deep financial trouble.

Super producer Just Blaze knows all three of the former partners well. He spoke recently on what he feels brought Dame crashing down.

damedash.jpg

"My take on Dame has always been he's a great guy, with a good heart, whose mouth just got in the way too much," Blaze told Vlad TV. "And that just comes from my own personal dealings with him. There were times when Dame was great to me. And then there were times when he was an absolute jerk. And I think that it's a thing where sometimes you rub enough people the wrong way you lose out on certain opportunities."

Brand Nubian emcee Lord Jamar says he has separated rap and hip hop into two different categories. He considers rap to be for the rich and gay friendly, while hip hop speaks for those still in the struggle.

He also feels like whites are only guests in the culture. While acknowledging  Macklemore's talent, Jamar singles the Seattle rapper out for pushing the gay agenda with songs like "Same Love" when he shouldn't be.

"White rappers you're coming to this almost as a guest. As a matter of fact you are guests in the house of hip hop," Jamar told Vlad TV. "Just because you have a hit record doesn't give you the right as I feel to voice your opinion. You know this is a black man's thing. We started this. This is our sh*t. We've allowed you to come in and kick your sh*t, make yourself known and if you have enough respect for the culture, we f*ck with you. But don't push it too far. See making a song like [Same Love], feeling like you have the same footing as any other hip hop artist, and to me you don't. To me when people like Macklemore come out with songs like that. I know he loves hip hop and all that, but he's trying to push an agenda that him as a white man feels is acceptable."

What do you think of Lord Jamar's comments?

Pusha T's highly anticipated album My Name Is My Name drops on October 8th. The Virginia emcee sat down recently with Noisey for episode one of their "A Name I Call Myself" series to get his explanation on the project's title.

"'My Name Is My Name' is just telling you by now you should know Pusha T. You're not getting anything else from me. I've been maybe one of the most consistent in subject matter," he said.

Noisey also spoke with Tristan Mack Wilds, Anwan "Slim" Glover and Tony Lewis Jr. about the importance of a name and to get their take on the title of Pusha's album.

Video After The Jump

Nardwuar the Human Serviette doesn't get the chance to interview very many females, but he nailed a good one when he chopped it up with Trina a.k.a. The Baddest Bitch.

Nardwuar was well prepared as always for this chat. This guy must hire private detectives to prepare for his interviews because he blew Trina's mind with little known facts about her past. He also came bearing gifts.

Peep the full interview below.

DJ Scoob Doo had the cameras rolling at Hit Factory Studios in Miami, Florida recently when Young Money Records head honcho Lil Wayne decided to give Meek Mill some skateboarding lessons.

"I'm a universal hood n*gga," Meek said. "When the coke was out, I was selling coke. When the weed was out, I was selling weed. When the hammers was out, I had the hammers out. When the bikes out, I bring the bikes out. The skateboard is out now. I'm a universal n*gga this is what I do. Anything I do I learn how to do good."

Video After The Jump

A former Beverly Hills Swat sergeant has made a startling claim against a fellow officer regarding the night Whitney Houston passed away.

Sgt. Brian Weir claims that on February 11, 2012, he went to the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California after Houston was found dead in her bathtub. He attempted to secure the scene and prevent contamination by placing a sheet over Houston's body

Weir says that Det. Sgt. Terry Nutall arrived at the scene, and "for no legitimate law enforcement inquiry, investigative, or other proper and legal purpose... removed the sheet and/or other covering from the body ... to an area below the pubic region.” Weir further claims that Nutall "made comments to the effect that the former pop star “looked attractive for a woman of her age and current state” and “Damn, she’s still looking good, huh?”

A coroner's van carrying Whitney Houston's lifeless body leaves the Beverly Hilton Hotel early Feb. 12, 2012, in Beverly Hills

Weir says that since he made the report he's been removed from the city's elite SWAT and K-9 units, denied promotions and training and relieved of supervisory duties.

9806985274_7c6a33f3fd_b.jpg

Nutall has since been promoted to lieutenant.

Lt. Lincoln Hoshino of the Beverly Hills Police Department issued a statement to CBS Los Angeles.

"We are definitely refuting the claim, we haven't retaliated against him for anything. Lt. Terry Nutall acted appropriately and properly. We don't believe the investigation was compromised and stand behind it 100%."

Weir is still employed by the department as a sergeant. He has filed a claim for damages against the police department and the city for retaliation against him after he reported the misconduct
