SOUTHWEST RANCHES, Fla. (AP) — Former Miami Dolphins and Indianapolis Colts cornerback Vontae Davis was found dead in his South Florida home on Monday, but police say no foul play is suspected.

Police in the Fort Lauderdale suburb of Davie said they responded to a medical emergency at Davis’ home Monday morning, but the 35-year-old was dead when officers arrived. No cause of death has been released pending autopsy results. Police said in a statement that the investigation is still active.

Davis played for 10 seasons in the NFL after being drafted 25th overall by the Dolphins in 2009 out of Illinois.

Davis played three seasons for Miami before being traded to Indianapolis just before the 2012 season. He played six seasons with the Colts. Team owner Jim Irsay offered his prayers to Davis’ family in a statement and shared a photo of Davis in a Colts jersey on social media.

The Washington, D.C., native signed with the Buffalo Bills for 2018 but left the team at halftime of the season’s second game. He released a statement announcing his retirement after the game, saying that after multiple injuries and surgeries, “Reality hit me fast and hard: I shouldn’t be out there anymore.”

Davis played in 121 games, intercepting 22 passes and returning one for a touchdown. He was selected for the Pro Bowl in 2014 and 2015 while a member of Indianapolis.

A U.S. judge in Louisiana signed off on charges against New Orleans rapper BG this week for violating the conditions of his probation after working as a hip-hop artist in Las Vegas following his release from federal custody in January.

On Feb. 8, BG or “Baby Gangsta,” whose legal name is Christopher Dorsey, went on stage in Las Vegas alongside rappers Lil Boosie & Gucci Mane.

Dorsey also recorded the hip-hop album "Choppers & Bricks" with Gucci Mane, real name Radric Davis, while in a halfway house in Las Vegas.

Dorsey is required to have explicit permission from the court before “entering into self-employment.” Authorities say federal probation officers questioned Dorsey after the concert, telling him to find a different job.

“I’m a rapper. That (is) my profession,” Dorsey said in response.

Dorsey also released music videos on YouTube & Apple Music. Dorsey needed the court’s permission to produce both of those videos but did not get it before posting them.

In addition, both Lil Boosie, whose legal name is Torrance Hatch, Jr. & Davis have been convicted of felony charges. Most recently, Hatch was arrested by federal agents in San Diego, California in June of 2023 for allegedly possessing a gun as a felon. Davis plead guilty in 2014 to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in Georgia.

B.G. needs permission from the court to associate with those convicted of felony charges. In working with Hatch & Davis, the court argued he did not follow the conditions of his release.

“It’s crazy how after paying my debt to society with 12 1/2 years of my life, I come home & still ain’t free,” Dorsey said in an Instagram post Friday. “I been doing everything the right way & it seems like that ain’t enough.

He was released on his own recognizance. Authorities could send him back to federal prison to serve the remainder of his sentence if his probation is revoked.

50 Cent is going to war with the mother of his son after she publicly accused him of raping her -- which he says is a totally false claim Daphne Joy is only making in retaliation for him seeking full custody.

Daphne, the mom of 12-year-old Sire, and 50's latest drama is tied directly to one of the lawsuits filed against Diddy. As we reported, Rodney Jones' latest amendment to that suit, claimed Daphne was a "sex worker" for the Bad Boy mogul ... an allegation that immediately caught 50 Cent's attention.

After 50 reacted on Instagram by posting, "I didn't know you was a sex worker, 👀 you little sex worker. LOL 😆" -- Daphne lit him up with a post of her own, saying ... "Let's put the real focus on your true evil actions of raping me and physically abusing me."

Now, 50 tells TMZ ... "The disturbing allegations in the sworn pleadings recently filed in a court case related to Daphne Joy the mother of my twelve-year-old child, has required me to take all necessary legal actions to protect my son Sire."

It's unclear what Diddy and Daphne's status is right now, but they've been romantically linked in the past ... which is apparently not sitting well with 50.

Thursday afternoon, he went after her again ... posting a pic of her & Diddy with a caption accusing her of getting money from Diddy, & repeating the claim she's a "little sex worker."

For the record, Daphne has said, "The claim that I am a sex worker is 100% false & character assassination. I am retaining an attorney to explore all legal remedies against both Rodney & his attorney."

Her lawyer will likely be facing off with 50 Cent's attorneys, too, as a child custody battle now looms.

INDUSTRY, Calif. (ABC7) -- Officials on Tuesday identified a 17-year-old girl who died after she allegedly grabbed a deputy's gun & shot herself during an altercation at the Industry sheriff's station.

The shooting occurred Sunday night at the station, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Johanna Gonzalez of La Puente died at the scene, according to the L.A. County Medical Examiner's Department, which listed her death as suicide. The cause of death was listed as "gunshot wound of head."

"Investigators learned that on Sunday, Industry Sheriff's Station deputies received a family disturbance call for service on the 300 block of Clintwood Avenue in the city of La Puente," the sheriff's department said. "The juvenile's foster parent reported that the juvenile was suffering from an apparent mental health crisis. Deputies responded to the scene; however, the juvenile had already left on foot before the deputies arrived."

Sheriff's officials said they didn't know where Gonzalez was headed at the time of the call.

About 7:40 p.m., Gonzalez knocked on the door of the station and gained entry & she withdrew a deputy's handgun during an altercation that ensued, sheriff's Lt. Art Spencer told reporters at the scene.

During the struggle, the girl "suffered a self-inflicted wound," cops said.

An attorney for the girl's family said they want to do their own investigation into the circumstances of her death.

"Knowing her size, her physical capabilities, I find it incredibly hard to believe that she would be able to disarm a deputy who had their weapon properly holstered," attorney Delaney Miller told ABC7. Before her death, the girl was being fostered by her aunt & uncle.

Iowa women's basketball star Caitlin Clark has been offered $5 million to play in Ice Cube's Big3 league, league co-founder Ice Cube confirmed on social media.

"We intended the offer to remain private while Caitlin Clark plays for the championship," Ice Cube wrote on X. "But I won't deny what's now already out there: BIG3 made a historic offer to Caitlin Clark. Why wouldn't we? Caitlin is a generational athlete who can achieve tremendous success in the BIG3.

"The skeptics laughed when we made Nancy Lieberman the first female coach of a men's pro team, & she won the championship in her first year. Then Lisa Leslie won it all in year 2. With our offer, Caitlin Clark can make history & break down even more barriers for women athletes."

ESPN reached out to the WNBA and the league's players' union to see if Clark playing in another league could be allowed under the current collective bargaining agreement. A spokesperson for the union said they were unaware of the Big3 offer and couldn't comment at this time.

The league does have prioritization rules in its CBA, which can affect some players who participate in overseas leagues. But it remains to be seen if those would prevent Clark's Big3 participation.

Clark is expected to be the WNBA's No. 1 draft pick on April 15 by the Indiana Fever. WNBA rookie salaries for lottery draft picks (Nos. 1-4) in 2024 are $76,535 and climb to $97,582 by their fourth season.

Clark already has a considerable endorsement portfolio with companies such as Nike, State Farm, Gatorade & Gainbridge, which has naming rights for the arena in Indianapolis where the WNBA's Fever and NBA's Pacers play.
