"I need to go to jail," Kyle "Quick" Norman told an Atlanta cop who spotted him running down a sidewalk as he responded to a domestic abuse call on Friday, January 29. The police officer was more than happy to oblige.
Norman, 38, reportedly attacked his fiancee this morning after she confronted him about his drinking, according to The Atlanta Journal Constitution.
The singer told the unidentified woman "she was gonna die today," before brutally beating her.
Norman allegedly punched her, choked her with a scarf that she had around her neck, shoved her engagement ring down her throat, took her keys and broke her cell phone.
The woman calmed Norman down by agreeing with everything he was saying. When he walked away she grabbed her keys and cell phone and bolted from the condo. She was able to wake a neighbor and call police around 5 a.m.
In an email sent to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution an officer wrote that he responded to “a fight call between an engaged couple. When I arrived, I was met by the victim who was visibly shaken.”
The victim was taken to Atlanta Medical Center with a knot the size of a golf ball on her forehead, a blood clot in her right eye and a cut on her nose.
Norman was hauled off to Fulton County Jail on a charge of aggravated assault. He will be held there at least until Friday, January 30, when he will face a judge.
“There’s a bench warrant for criminal trespassing – damage which carries at $1,000 surety bond but he can’t leave until he is seen by a judge tomorrow morning at 11 a.m.,” Fulton County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Tracy Flanagan told The AJC in an email.
