Dr. Dre is a perfectionist with a keen eye for talent. When he gives his stamp of approval and devotes studio time to an artist the results are generally mind blowing.
50 Cent, Eminem, Snoop Dogg Kendrick Lamar, Xzibit and The D.O.C. can all attribute a big part of their success to Dre.
The super producer just signed 23-year old rapper Justin Mohrle a.k.a. JT to his Aftermath label. Will he be the next to blow?
Dre was impressed by JT's demo tape. The young rapper has now moved out to California to work with the hit maker full time. Mohrle realizes that this is his shot at superstardom.
“With the situation I’m in, Dre could decide to drop a track tomorrow, and then I might not be able to ever go to the mall again like this. Just us. By myself," he told D Magazine
The D.O.C. is responsible for bringing JT to Dre's attention. He gave the Compton legend the demo tape that got the ball rolling. He will also play an integral part in hopefully molding JT into a star.
“JT and I worked on a couple songs; Dre fell in love with the songs; Dre stole the songs from the kid, because he wanted to put them out as a unit,” The D.O.C. told D Magazine. “That’s the way this house is rolling. We’re all putting our energy toward building another classic for The Good Doctor. Then he’s going to take his time to help us build a classic for the youngster.”
Check out a couple of tracks from JT below.
