During a discussion on The View about Charlie Sheen's recent drug binges, the conversation turned to Whoopi Goldberg's own battles with substance abuse.
"I was a functioning drug addict. I went to work because I knew if I didn't show up a lot of people would be out of work and I would be out of a check." Goldberg said
When asked by Barbara Walters how she overcame her addiction, Whoopi described a four day ordeal that finally opened her eyes.
"I ended up sitting on a bed for three or four days scared there was something under the bed," Whoopie explained. "I wet the bed, I pooped the bed, I did all kinds of stuff in my room. My roommate came back and said, 'what is going on?' I said there is something under the bed. I was so scared and that's when I knew."

The DEA crept up on a come up with their recent drug bust of alleged Mexican Cartel Members.
In an investigation dubbed "Operation Four Horsemen", police nabbed 23 Atlanta-based Mexican cartel members, 23.8 million in cash and 567 kilos in cocaine.
Special Agent Rodney Benson said the cartel was running drugs up and down the east coast.
He added that $8 million of the seized money will be divided among five local law enforcement agencies that gave critical support to the investigation. The agencies named were the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Georgia Department of Public Safety, the Lawrenceville Police Department, the Henry County Sheriff's Office and the Troup County Sheriff's Office.
"We are asking our local law enforcement partners to step up and help us with an international crime problem, but really on a local law enforcement budget," U.S. Attorney Sally Yates told the Atlanta Constitution Journal. "It was important that we give back some of the money that was stripped from the cartels."
The bust was the result of a 2 year investigation. 2 of the 23 people arrested were brothers that are said to be the head of the cartel along with 2 other brothers that are still at large.
Lil B is starting to sway people's opinion of him. If you initially considered based god a joke, chances are you've either now become a fan or at least respect his movement.
B sat down for an interview with Ernest Baker of Complex Magazine to talk about the advice he go from 50 Cent recently, Kanye West and Lupe Fiasco being fans, Tony Yayo's support and NBA player Kevin Durant being a hater.
Complex: We couldn't get in touch because you were traveling all day. Where have you been?
Lil B: Man, I was out there in New York. I had a meeting with 50 Cent.
Complex: What were you talking about with 50?
Lil B: Just some business, man. Seeing what he thinks. Getting some good knowledge. He's a good businessman and I'm really working on my entrepreneurship. So I definitely wanted to get some info from him. 50's a good dude.
Complex: What did he have to say? As far as music, and business advice.
Lil B: He was explaining some of his story and some of his background. He's a real well-spoken dude. Just very upfront. He was talking about business deals. We really wasn't talking too much about my music. More about my business and my work ethic and how hard I go and how active I am with my support base and what I'm doing without his help or a major label or anybody. It was a very healthy talk, man. It was great. Getting a chance to learn some of his struggles and see what he's doing now. He's a real authentic guy. The first time I really met him, like shook his hand, was out in the Bay Area, but we never really got a chance to talk. He had a show out in San Francisco. This was the first time we really got a chance to sit down, talk, make some jokes, laugh, and stuff.
Complex: How did the meeting happen?
Lil B: Well, Tony Yayo is my dude. Tony Yayo is a big supporter of my music. I think he'd just been telling 50 about me, what I do, and my grind, what kind of artist I am. And 50's been seeing me around and paying attention, too. I be all over ThisIs50.com, his website. He's been watching and seeing what I been doing. He knows I'm very controversial like him. He wrote a book, I wrote a book. His first record deal was bad like mine with The Pack and we learned and got out of it. It's a bunch of similarities between us, man. It was great.
Complex: I saw Kanye's engineer Mike Dean hitting you on Twitter, and I personally know dudes around Kanye have told him about you. Have you heard anything from 'Ye yet?
Lil B: I was talking to CyHi, man. He hit me up on Twitter. He was just telling me, "Kanye and Lupe got super love for you," and I'm like, "That's amazing." Then he was like, "They been cooking all day. 'Ye be always doing it," and I'm like, "That's great." I was just telling CyHi, "Make sure you tell 'Ye and tell the team I got love for y'all. I was just joking around [about fucking Kanye in the ass]." CyHi was like, "'Ye knew you was joking. What 'Ye gon' do? Get mad? 'Ye got money. 'Ye rich. What he gon' do? Get more rich? You know it's all love over here." It feels good to know Kanye supports me. I'ma see him at Coachella and get that studio time in.
Complex: Not everyone is a fan, though. Kevin Durant said he can't believe you're relevant.
Lil B: [Laughs.] Man, NBA superstar haters! I was talking to Kevin Durant on the DM. I was showing him love like, "KD, it's all good." But Kevin Durant looks like a hater. He looks like somebody that's gonna hate you. I've seen a couple snapshots of him. He just looks like a hater, bro. KD, you're the No. 1 leader in points. Be happy! Smile. I heard he has a rap artist and that's why he was trippin'. But, man, KD? I'ma beat him in basketball and then he's gonna have to listen to my music. Then I'ma ask him, "Who's your favorite artist, KD?" Then he's gonna tell me and I'ma play my songs that shit on his favorite artist.
Complex: Are you gonna fuck his bitch?
Lil B: Hmm. Am I gonna fuck Kevin Durant's bitch? If he offers, I might take up the offer. But if KD doesn't offer, I really don't have any intentions to do that. I just wanna play KD in a one-on-one and show him my skills. Show him that Based basketball. Cross him over a couple times and make him feel like a son.
Rihanna's new video for "S&M" is causing quite a stir.
UK's Daily Mirror is reporting that the clip has already been banned in 11 countries, Youtube has tagged it as "age-restricted" content, meaning you have to verify that you're over 18 to watch it. MTV are said to be considering re-editing it to make it more tame for daytime viewers. And BBC Radio One won't play the track before 7pm.
So what's all the fuss about?
“S&M is not about sex, well it’s about metaphorical sex," Rihanna said. "The video has lots of whips, chains, dominatrix leather, latex…”
Ok, that pretty much explains it, Rihanna likes it kinky, but this video pushes the envelope a little too much for many.
Nevertheless, Riri loves the video and took to Twitter to talk about it and urge fans to watch it on RihannaNow.com instead of Youtube.
"I had tons of fun in the pink zebra room! My bff M, Perez, Trannys, a hott little person and a silver fox! Can't be crazier."
The video is still doing quite well on Youtube despite being flagged, with almost 3.5 million views in just 2 days.
Justin Bieber heard something last night (February 2) he hasn't heard much of during his short career.
When the young singer's face was shown on the JumboTron at the New York Knicks vs Dallas Mavericks game, Knicks fans booed loud and long.
Bieber looked a little surprised, but there was also a young girl crying tears of joy because she was sitting close to him, so his night wasn't all bad.

The strange and very sad saga of rapper Charles Hamilton continues to unfold right before our very eyes.
Hamilton was released from an Ohio jail last Friday (January 29), for punching a cop who was trying to arrest him for disturbing the peace. He was eventually charged with two counts of assault and resisting arrest. His bail was set at $25,000.
The rapper now has to undergo a psychiatric evaluation to determine of he's still a threat to himself or others.
This is Hamilton's 2nd stint in a psychiatric ward. He voluntarily checked himself into New York Presbyterian Mental Hospital last summer. When he emerged, he was in a wheelchair with pink wheels.
At that time he attempted to explain to XXL what was going on with him.
“The reason I’m in a wheelchair is because I have sharp pains since I was in the hospital and a lil bit before,” he said. “I have sharp pains when I’m walking and literally I want to collapse but I can’t I have to continue to walk. So my right leg has been acting kinda funny. I still have a lil’ mobility, I can still stand up in the booth…but I’d rather the mobility of my legs be jeopardized than my musicality be jeopardized at any given point of time."
Hamilton added that he was in the hospital for a "broken heart."
Just a couple of years ago Hamilton appeared ready to become a breakout performer. He was signed to Interscope Records, but was soon dropped. There was never a full explanation for why he got dropped, but looking back, it may have had something to do with his odd behavior.
Mental illness is nothing to laugh about. Whatever Charles is going through we hope can be addressed because he really is talented.

As if their public break up wasn't messy enough, Christina Milian and The-Dream are in the midst of an ugly battle over money in the divorce settlement.
What's even more bizarre is that teen pop star Justin Bieber is involved.
According to TMZ the hangup is money from The-Dream co-penned Bieber hit song "Baby."
Allegedly The-Dream offered to give Milian 10% of the publishing for the song, Milian wants more. Now their previously agreed upon divorce agreement is up in the air with The-Dream born, Terius Youngdell Nash trying to back out completely.
"Mr. Nash filed for divorce. He wanted the divorce, not our client. She then agreed to resolve it peacefully and outside of the court. Now his lawyer is writing me saying there's no agreement when we 100% made an agreement on the record." Milian's lawyer said.
Sounds like they get to make each other miserable for while longer.

Reporter Elie Seckbach caught up with boxing trainer Joe Goossen to get his opinion on the May;7 boxing match between Manny Pacquiao vs Sugar Shane Mosely. Goosen feels like it's going to be a good close fight.
Tickets went on sale yesterday and within 3 hours, 16,000 seats had been gobbled up for the event at the Las Vegas MGM Grand.
"What would you expect? Manny Pacquiao is a cash generating machine. And it also goes to show you that Shane Mosely brings some cache to this fight," Goossen said. "Because a lot of people, including myself think Shane Mosely can be in this fight very easily."
Shane is getting older, at age 39 he'll have to be really crafty to slow down the whirlwind of punches from Pacquiao
"He's a little bit older, but do you think he has a little more on the ball than [Antonio] Margarito? Yes I think he does and he's gonna have a lot more head movement that Margarito. I think his hand is speed is gonna be better than Margarito and the punch that really worked for Margarito is Shane's best punch... and that's that left hook to the liver. Let me tell you, I've worked with Shane... the strongest liver shots I've ever felt, trust me." Goosen said.
The fight is already exceeding expectations for promotor Bob Arum, who marveled at how fast tickets were moving.
"Incredible, simply incredible, I have never promoted a fight that has sold so many tickets so quickly." Arum said.
One interesting sidenote to this fight. It will be held on Showtime instead of HBO. Don't worry, the change won't affect your ability to order the pay-per-view bout. It's just the first time in a long time either Mosley or Pacquia has fought on a network besides HBO.
