With the ink barely dry on her new contract with Interscope Records, Iggy Azalea is already having to make big decisions about her debut album, The New Classic. T.I. has reached out to the Australian rapper to see if he can executive produce the project.
"T.I.'s gonna be helping me with it, kind of A&R-ing, kind of executive producing," Azalea told MTV. "He called me up like, 'Please?' and I was like, 'Definitely. You're Tip; I love you, of course.' So he's gonna be helping me out. Just reaching out to people and helping me find production and pointing me in the direction of things that I might like. We're going to start on that next week."
It's obviously a big decision for Iggy. Her album will be the first time a lot of hip hop fans will hear her music even though she has been gaining national attention from her mixtape, Ignorant Art.
She and Tip will begin work on the project very soon.
"We'll probably start next week," she said. "I'll probably fly out to Atlanta and we'll do it there because he's weird with traveling and stuff. Hopefully that will be really dynamic and help speed things along. In terms of writing the record, that's not the part that really worries me; that's easy, It's finding the production and finding something cohesive that's right for the direction of the album. It could happen next week or I might go until the end of February and not find it. You just never know when you're gonna have that magic."

"It was about him creating a platform for us to be able to see ourselves," Tip said. "Every Saturday morning after cartoons I was waiting and hoping Run DMC or somebody was on there. If not for him, we wouldn’t have had that. And not just my generation, but generations before me.”
Tiny actually appeared on "Soul Train" as a member of the group Xscape. She remembered what the experience was like.
"When I first started out we were on Soul Train and it was a great experience. It was the first time I realized they lip sync. So, you know it was something different," she said. "He paved the way for a lot of us to make it."
