50 Cent doesn't play around when it comes to his safety. While at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week, none other than mixed martial arts legend Ken Shamrock was spotted working as part of the security detail for the multi-platinum rapper and business mogul.

Ken chatted with UFC Tonight host and mixed martial arts journalist Ariel Helwani on Twitter last night and confirmed his new gig.

12350557695?profile=original

This morning he complimented 50 for being one of the "classiest gents" he had ever worked with. Shamrock is in employed by a company that does security work for high-end clients, according to TMZ.

For those of you who don't follow MMA, Shamrock is a pioneer in the sport. He fought in the first ever UFC event in 1993. During his career he has fought in Japan in both Pancrase and the Pride Fighting Championships. He's also wrestled in the World Wrestling Federation. Along the way he earned the nickname "The World's Most Dangerous Man."

12350558287?profile=original

On November 21, 2003 Ken was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame.

12350558693?profile=original

So, if you're thinking about approaching 50 for anything other than an autograph or picture I'd advise against it.

Considered a radio pioneer by many, STAR has set precedents on the urban landscape and was recently inducted into News One's "Top 20 Black Radio Jockeys Of All Time."

Forbes has rolled out it's third annual 30 Under 30 list. The publication picks the brightest and most innovative people in 15 different categories ranging from music to education.

29 artists and entrepreneurs made the music list. Let's take a look at what Forbes had to say about 15 of them.

Bruno Mars, musician (28 years old)

12350567094?profile=original

When halftime rolls around at Super Bowl XLVIII, it's safe to say Bruno Mars won't be worried about the score. "Hawaii doesn't have a team, so I bounce around," says the Honolulu native. "I go for the underdog." That term hardly describes Mars, who will play the halftime show in the tradition of Paul McCartney, U2, Michael Jackson and other music legends. Mars is the first artist in 10 years to headline before turning 30, but he's already got two platinum albums and 14 past Grammy nominations (including one win), with four new ones this year. His best preparation for the upcoming performance at MetLife Stadium may have been hosting Saturday Night Live in 2012, despite having about as much experience with sketch comedy as Hawaii has with snow. Says Mars: "You gotta be fearless, man. … If I'm ever gonna sing in a blizzard, it may as well be at the Super Bowl."

Wiz Khalifa, musician (26-years old)

11858847653_1b2448ecbe_b.jpg

"My flow's so sick you might want to absorb this," the Pittsburgh native rapped last year. "Best believe every year young Khalifa gonna make that Forbes list." He has, for the third consecutive year, while raking in $14 million from strong sales of his music, merch and concert tickets.

Miley Cyrus, musician (21-year old)

11858998474_87ee777f56_b.jpg

Don't be fooled: the former Disney idol's VMA twerk-fest wasn't an impromptu lapse in judgment, but part of a concerted plan to destroy the last vestiges of Hannah Montana and introduce Cyrus as a grown pop star. New album Bangerz sold 270,000 copies its opening week.

Kim Kaupe, co-founder 'Zinepack (28-years old)

11858564005_2bcdf6c69d_b.jpg

Along with cofounder Brittany Hodak, 30, Kaupe launched this music merchandizing startup in 2011. Since then, they've created custom memorabilia for artists from Toby Keith to Katy Perry; revenues have surged to $6 million, up from $2.6 million last year.

J. Cole, musician (28-year old)

11858848783_b11cda10bd_b.jpg

Jay Z's first signing at Roc Nation is now a hip-hop force in his own right. Sophomore album Born Sinner debuted at No. 2 on the charts with sales of 297,000, nearly matching Kanye West's Yeezus. Now grossing six figures per night on his world tour, Cole is here to stay.

Drake, musician (27-years old)

11858566715_7ec91ef7c4_b.jpg

The former Degrassi star has pulled in over $30 million in the past two years, boosted by live shows and endorsements with the likes of Sprite and Kodak. Look for him to build on that with his latest arena tour in support of new album Nothing Was The Same.

Derrick Fung, Founder, Tunezy (26-years old)

11858566925_d6669a249a_b.jpg

The former banker launched social record label Tunezy, where fans can follow, promote and buy from their favorite musicians, in 2011. Electronic music promoter SFX bought it for a seven-figure sum in November 2013; Fung remains CEO.

Justin Bieber, musician (19-years old)

11858564095_ff90e1233d_b.jpg

After appearing on the cover of FORBES in 2012, the world's most famous teenager launched a new album and a world tour. “I’m trying to make music that’s a little bit more mature and that can appeal to all ages," he said. Meanwhile, recent publicity gaffes haven't stopped him from earning $113 million in the last two years.

Miguel, musician (28-years old)

11858563865_02d75b8b05_b.jpg

A relative late bloomer in the music world, the California native finally broke through with last year's Kaleidoscope Dream, which debuted at No. 3 on the charts and earned him five Grammy nominations. He won Best R&B Song for "Adorn."

Janelle Monae, musician (28-years old)

11858999554_6a9fdcfcbc_b.jpg

The funky songstress earned rave reviews for sophomore album The Electric Lady in September 2013, featuring rare guest appearances by Prince and Erykah Badu. She continues to pad her coffers with low six-figure grosses on the road.

Lorde, musician (17-years old)

11859382336_8abd238e23_b.jpg

The youngest name in the music category, New Zealand's biggest star has rocketed to mainstream acclaim with debut album Pure Heroine and unexpected hit "Royals." She's already cashing in with a $2.5 million publishing deal, and more is undoubtedly on the way.

Kendrick Lamar, musician (26-years old)

11858998734_ba5ac390a2_b.jpg

Dr. Dre’s latest protégé earned $9 million last year after releasing smash hit Good Kid, m.A.A.d City and playing over 100 live shows. Better yet: he earned seven Grammy nominations, more than any other artist besides Jay Z.

Lady Gaga, musician (27-years old)

11858848633_142f89ffd7_b.jpg

It's hard to top showing up to the Grammys in an egg, but Gaga did just that with the launch of new album ARTPOP, debuting a flying dress and announcing plans to perform in outer space in 2015. With $80 million in earnings last year, she's the world's second highest-paid musician.

Rihanna, musician (25-years old)

rihanna-under30_170x170.jpg

The Barbados-born diva has released a new album nearly every year since her 2005 debut. This year, she earned $43 million, boosted by nightly grosses around $1 million per night on her Diamonds tour and endorsements with Vita Coco, Nivea and her fragrance Reb'l Fleur.

Donnie Dench, Founder, WillCall (29-years old)

donnie-dinch-under30_170x170.jpg

This designer-turned-CEO has plans to take the $24 billion live music industry mobile. With more than $2.1 million in seed funding from billionaire Sean Parker, music mogul Coran Capshaw and Airbnb cofounder Joe Gebbia, he's well on his way.

Video After The Jump

Hip Hop was built on competition. Whether it was break dancing, DJing or emcees on the mic. There's always a desire within each artist to prove that he or she is the best.

Drake and Kendrick Lamar are 2 of today's most talented rappers. Who's better? That would depend on who you ask. I'm sure each of them believes he is better than the competition.

12350565452?profile=original

Ever since Kendrick dropped his verse on Big Sean's song "Control," where he declares he would lyrically murder Drake and a few others, there's been a feeling that a competition would spark between the two. I wouldn't call it a beef because that's not what either one of them are about.

Most fans would like to see it, but will it ever happen?

12350565867?profile=original

Lord Jamar of the Brand Nubians recently sat down with Vlad TV to give his opinion

"Y'all n*ggas go ahead and battle. Y'all got some sort of emcee beef, then battle," Jamar said. "Y'all are not tough guys where you need to be fighting and all that type of sh*t. That sh*t's corny anyway. You both feel like you're some sort of lyrical prodigy's. Show and prove."

Jamar said he would have to lean towards Drake if the two did battle because he's more talented overall.

"I'll be honest I'm more acquainted with Drake's lyrics than I am of Kendrick's lyrics. He be saying some sh*t. Almost always kills it" Jamar continued. "I might have to go with Drake. Send me some more Kendrick sh*t and I might change my mind later. Probably all around [Drake is better]. At the end of the day it's not just about how well you can rhyme. It's about making songs too."

Who would you guys put your money on?

50 Cent is in Las Vegas attending the Consumer Electronics Show for the fourth year in a row. Sonic Electronics sat down with the G-Unit mogul to discuss SMS Audio now being in competition with Beats By Dre, Carmelo Anthony and Timbaland becoming investor partners in the company, 50's forthcoming Street King Immortal album and his Animal Ambition project.

12350567656?profile=original

"I'm gonna put Animal Ambition out in the first quarter. And it will lead up to [Street King Immortal]," 50 said. "With Animal Ambition the project is about prosperity. I got an interesting way of writing. Because I wrote it from a distorted vision or viewpoint. When Biggie said 'Damn, n*ggas wanna stick me for my paper.' That's about when you get something, the effects of others responding to you doing better. The jealousy is connected to it. There's so many ways to write it, that the album has all those facets to it. The overall theme is ambition and prosperity."

Video After The Jump

Chris Brown arrived at a Washington, D.C. court today amid a mass of paparazzi, screaming fans, and what a My Fox D.C. reporter described as an "unprecedented" amount of security.

The singer made his way inside the courtroom and was described as relaxed and smiling. Once the judge entered things got serious.

Chris was in court to deal with an assault case. He's accused of punching a man in the face outside of the W Hotel last October.

A plea deal of misdemeanor assault offered today, but Chris' attorney Mark Geragos rejected the prosecution's deal. Another one of Brown's laywyers, Danny Onorato, said outside of court that the deal was rejected because Brown is not guilty.

Prosecutor's initially were unable to find any surveillance video of the alleged punch. Today it was revealed that they have obtained footage. Geragos has not yet seen it and may be waiting to find out what prosecutor's have on his client before deciding how to move forward.

The entire proceeding lasted about ten minutes. Another hearing is set for February 20th.

12350563288?profile=original

A lot is riding on this case because Chris' probation in California for his 2009 assault of Rihanna has already been revoked. Depending on the outcome of the D.C. case the singer could face jail time. Brown will appear in a California court on February 10, for a progress report on his current stint in anger management rehab.

Rappers in New York City are finding out that certain actions and lyrics are leading them straight to jail. The NYPD's latest tool in cutting down on crime doesn't require wire taps, informants and typical police work. Instead their simply watching rapper's YouTube videos and letting the artists snitch on themselves, according to the New York Times.

12350557661?profile=original

Dub Money Gang

In December 2011 a music video by the Dub Money Gang led to the arrest of eleven gang members

You really have to listen to the songs because they’re talking about ongoing violence,” said Brooklyn anti-gang Officer Fred Vanpelt

Through videos officers discovered that rapper Murder Malco, real name Cuame Nelsonand a member of Addicted To Money (A.T.C.) crew were allegedly gang members. Both are currently under federal indictments for crimes they committed.

“It’s a double-edged sword,” said Patrice Allen, who manages Murder Malco A.T.C. member, K-Dot, real name Karon Stanley. "If you have that much passion and love for the music, I guess you have to deal with it. That’s just what comes with the music. It’s the bitter and the sweet, you know?”

Another rapper that has recently been arrested because of YouTube music video is Na Boogz, reportedly a member of the Bronx gang WTG.

The list of crimes these men and their associates have been accused of include shootings, stabbings, gun possession, drug dealing and more.

12350557274?profile=original

Na Boogz

Police pay close attention to diss videos like the one Na Boogz made going at former crew member Quaysean Haywood, who switched over to a new crew.

Bridget G. Brennan, the special narcotics prosecutor for New York City, said that even though diss videos have been around forever, media forums are giving rapper's with real street beefs a bigger audience.

“There’s now a much bigger audience. It’s not just that the whole neighborhood knows about the dispute,” she said. “You can get tens of thousands of hits on a YouTube video. It’s a much bigger arena.
