The Dallas Mavericks are trading Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers for Anthony Davis and a 2029 first-round pick in a blockbuster deal, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania on Saturday night.
Maxi Kleber and Markieff Morris are also heading to the Lakers while Max Christie heads to Dallas, sources said.
"I believe that defense wins championships," Mavs general manager Nico Harrison told ESPN's Dave McMenamin regarding his motivation to trade Doncic for Davis. "I believe that getting an All-Defensive center and an All-NBA player with a defensive mindset gives us a better chance. We're built to win now and in the future."
The Utah Jazz, the third team in the deal, are receiving Lakers guard Jalen Hood-Schifino as well as 2025 second round picks from the LA Clippers and Mavericks.
Midnight Moonlight and You" was written over 30 years ago and has a storied history. Way back in the 90's I had a music management company with Jim Saxon called "Calvin James Music." We were really excited because we just signed Giorge Pettus, a great R&B pop singer who had a record deal with MCA Records and they were working on his album. What he needed was a hit song! Jim and I got together with songwriter Tom Campbell in my living room and wrote "Midnight Moonlight and You." We thought it was a real banger and the record label would love it. So, Jim and I flew out to LA and met with Louil Silas. At that time he was MCA Records executive producer for Babyface, Bobby Brown, Sheena Easton, Pebbles, Patti LaBelle, and Giorge Pettus. When we told him about "Midnight Moonlight and You" he said had already given the last of the budget to the Isley brothers to finish Giorge's album. Disappointed, we gave him the song anyway but I doubt he ever listened to it. s
That night we were invited to the Isley Brothers studio session with Giorge and hung out with Ron and Marvin Isley as well as Angela Winbush. We all shared a fast food dinner as they recorded Giorge’s vocal tracks. Unfortunately the song they produced wasn't a hit for Giorge and that was his last album with MCA records.
Decades later I came across "Midnight Moonlight and You" in my archives and thought maybe Mr MooQ should give it a go. Excited, I called Jim Saxon and we put together a modern version of the song. I then hired Chuck Zwicky to do the arrangement and oversee the production. Finally after all these years, here's "Midnight Moonlight and You!"
Since Giorge and Tom are no longer with us I dedicate this song to them for all the fun we shared. Miss you guys!
WASHINGTON, Jan 29 (Reuters) - An American Airlines regional passenger jet and a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter crashed into the Potomac River after a midair collision near Reagan Washington National Airport on Wednesday night, officials said. The Washington Post said multiple bodies had been pulled from the water. Senator Ted Cruz of Texas said on social media that "we know there are fatalities," though he did not say how many.
An American Airlines source told Reuters that 60 passengers, along with two pilots and two crew members were scheduled to be on the flight. Three soldiers were aboard the helicopter, a U.S. official said.
There has not been a fatal U.S. passenger airplane accident since February 2009, but a series of near-miss incidents in recent years have raised serious safety concerns.
NBC reported that four people had been pulled alive from the Potomac River.
A web camera shot from the Kennedy Center in Washington showed an explosion mid-air across the Potomac around 2047 ET with an aircraft in flames crashing down rapidly.
The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration said a PSA Airlines regional jet collided midair with the helicopter while on approach to Reagan. PSA was operating Flight 5342 for American Airlines, which had departed from Wichita, Kansas, according to the FAA. Police said multiple agencies were involved in a search and rescue operation in the Potomac River, which borders the airport. Dozens of police, ambulance and recuse units, some ferrying boats, staged along the river and raced to positions along the tarmac of Reagan airport. Live TV images showed several boats in the water, flashing blue and red lights.
The airport said late on Wednesday that all takeoffs and landings had been halted as emergency personnel responded to an aircraft incident. The National Transportation Safety Board said it was gathering more information on the incident.
American Airlines said on social media that it was "aware of reports that American Eagle flight 5342, operated by PSA, with service from Wichita, Kansas (ICT) to Washington Reagan National Airport (DCA) has been involved in an incident."
American Airlines said it would provide more information as it became available to the company.

It appears the military helicopter was not broadcasting its GPS location at the time.

DETROIT (FOX 2) - A Lyft driver denied a Detroit rapper a ride because of her size - and now she's suing.
Dajua Blanding, known on stage as Dank Demoss, requested a ride to a Detroit Lions watch party earlier this month. However, when the driver arrived, he saw Blanding and told her he couldn't give her a ride because of her weight. Blanding was recording the encounter.
At first, the driver told Blanding she wouldn't fit in his sedan.
"I can fit in this car," she can be heard saying, to which he responded, "Believe me, you can't."
The driver then told Blanding his tires couldn't handle the weight, apologized, and mentioned ordering an Uber XL - a larger vehicle. He added that he would refund the ride so she wouldn't be charged.
Blanding says she could have fit.
"I've been in cars smaller than that," she told FOX 2. "I just want them to know that it hurt my feelings."
Blanding has retained attorneys Jonathan Marko and Zach Runyan to sue for discrimination.
"I knew that it was illegal, and I knew that it was wrong," Marko said.
He said weight is a protected characteristic in Michigan. Marko said that denying someone a ride based on their weight would be the same as denying someone because of their race or religion - at least under the law.
Lyft drivers can turn down passengers for perceived security threats, but Marko said they cannot deny a ride based on protected characteristics.
Lyft released a statement:
"Lyft unequivocally condemns all forms of discrimination—we believe in a community where everyone is treated with equal respect and mutual kindness. Our community guidelines and terms of service explicitly prohibit harassment or discrimination."
The rideshare company has been served with the lawsuit

Brooklyn rapper Maino addressed his unexpected involvement in the ongoing feud between Jim Jones and Cam'ron. He expressed his desire for peace and highlighted the significant movement Dipset created in hip-hop culture, noting its influence on style and sound, paralleling other iconic groups like Wu-Tang and G-Unit. Maino recounted being inadvertently caught in the crossfire due to a past song referencing rumors about Cam'ron. He clarified that the track was crafted during a time when he was determined to gain attention in the music industry after leaving prison, likening his approach to "trolling." Despite any previous tensions, Maino assured viewers that he and Jim Jones have since resolved their differences, emphasizing the focus should remain on positivity and unity within the hip-hop community.
