The 2014 Global Spin Awards held their press conference Wednesday, September 17, at Midtown Manhattan's Bryant Park Hotel to announce this year's nominees. On the panel were and DJ Funkmaster Flex, DJ KId Capri, and DJ Premier, along with Boomshots founder Rob Kenner, all of whom said a few words about the importance of DJing to the culture of hip-hop. The panel was moderated by Shawn Perez, founder of the Global Spin Awards
The official award show will be held on November 18th at the New World Stages in New York, where the nominees will join each other in celebrating their work and the growth of the industry. The awards have grown into a weekend-long event. Prez continues, “The awards have grown over the years, drawing top names and brands. With the overwhelming response and participation, this year we’re pleased to announce a weekend long celebration complete with a DJ Clinics, panels and battles.”

Get used to seeing a lot more of Amber Rose. The model has signed a management deal with Nick Cannon's NCredible Entertainment, according to Page Six. The deal was reportedly completed this week and Nick already has big things lined up for Rose.
TMZ reports that Wiz Khalifa's better half will soon have a television show that focuses on fashion and empowering women.
A book is also in the works.
Amber was tight-lipped when TMZ caught up with her, but did reveal she will pen a "how-to book." Amber added that she and Nick became friends while filming School Dance. She considers him to be her "brother."

When Big Pun passed away on February, 7, 2000 he was just starting to fulfill his enormous potential. His 1998 debut album entitled Capital Punishment had taken the rap world by storm. Eventually becoming the first solo album by a Latino rapper to go platinum. His follow up CD, Yeeeah Baby, was released just shy of two months after his death. It has been certified gold.
Pun's widow Liza Rios has filed a lawsuit against her husband's friend and former business partner, Fat Joe, alleging he's cheated her out of money, per an agreement with Pun.
Rios claims that half of the royalties from her husbands album's, including the posthumous LP Endangered Species, were supposed to go to her in Pun's absence. After 2005, Rios says Joe stopped paying.
According to TMZ, Rios knows Pun's album's are still raking in money and she wants her share. She's seeking more than $1 million.
