Adrien Broner was back up to his old tricks Saturday night at the MGM Grand. He bounced back from his December loss to Marcos Maidana to defeat Carlos Molina. In doing so he claimed the WBA Super Lightweight belt.

During his post-fight interview with Showtime's Jim Gray, Broner showed no respect for his opponent and little class.

"I've beaten Africans and I just beat the f*ck out of a Mexican," Broner said

Gray told Broner, who was boxing on the undercared of the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Marcos Maidana fight, to show some class.

The 24-year old, nicknamed The Problem, later said he would like to challenge Manny Pacquiao. It's a very doable fight. Both fighters are coming off of wins. Although Broner fought Molina at 140 pounds, his previous two fights were at 147 pounds where Pacquiao is at.

Lord Jamar addressed the topic of Donald Sterling's recent exposure as a racist after being recorded making various racially charged statements, in this clip from his exclusive interview with VladTV.

Jamar began by speaking on Donald Sterling's alleged mistress, V. Stiviano, and how he feels about her potentially being the person who leaked the audio to the world. Jamar joked that Stiviano looks "suspect" like she could've "been a man in another life," and went on to state that he thinks she is a "piece of sh*t too." He does, however, think that people should be thankful for what she allegedly did, although Jamar still feels that the young woman is a "sell-out."

12350795298?profile=original

The Brand Nubian emcee went on to say that if this was the only stain of racism cast upon Sterling's image, then the general public shouldn't hold it against him for life. However, since Sterling has demonstrated racist behavior in the past, he's finally gotten what's been coming to him.

12350795888?profile=original

While everyone believes that Stiviano is the most logical person to point a finger at for releasing the audio, Jamar pondered the possibilities of the government actually being behind the whole scandal. He referenced the clarity of the audio as a possible reason to pin its release on the government, and also spoke about why he feels as though no one is safe and how we can all be exposed like Sterling if we are not extra careful.

DJ Infamous talks about the appreciation fans abroad have for Hip Hop vs here in the States. Speaking of his recent tour with 50 Cent and Wiz Khalifa, Infamous notes how we might see someone as being cold or irrelevant in the States, but overseas the amount of love they get from fans is at, or near, what it was like at their peak.

"This was like two or three years ago. We did a festival with 50 Cent, Wiz Khalifa, all these cats. At the time 50 didn't have no current record out," Infamous said. "Over [in the U.S.] people would think he was like cold or whatever. When he got in front of those 70,000 people, it was like 2003, the first album all over again. He did a show for damn near an hour and a half - two hours. Every record and they're singing every word."

LAS VEGAS -- Floyd Mayweather and Marcos Maidana arrived together at their post-fight press conference Saturday night, about an hour after Mayweather had won a hard-fought majority decision in a much tougher fight than most expected.

Floyd Mayweather celebrates his victory against Marcos Maidana following their fight at MGM Grand.

The press conference began well, with Mayweather, sporting a cut over his right eye and a welt over his left, congratulating Maidana on a great fight.

"You're a great fighter and very tough competitor," Mayweather told Maidana, who hails from Argentina. "Congratulations on the new baby. She's beautiful.

"Next time, just don't hit me (below the belt) so much."

Maidana quickly replied: "Next time let me use my gloves," a reference to a drawn-out pre-fight controversy involving the gloves Maidana wanted to wear.

Things went downhill from there.

Maidana said, "give me a (bleeping) rematch."

Mayweather, standing at the podium while Maidana sat to the side, replied: "We can take it back down there right now if you want. Put the ring back up. … It's not a problem. If he feels he won, we can do it again in September."

September is when Mayweather is scheduled to fight again as part of a deal with Showtime.

For the 46th time 46 career fights, Mayweather, 37, came into the post-fight news conference a winner. And this time it was also as the world champ carrying the WBA and WBC welterweight titles

But it was not easy, a close, majority decision, much to the displeasure of the sellout crowd of 16,268, a partisan Maidana crowd that booed vociferously when the result was announced.

Judge Michael Pernick scored it 114-114, a draw. Burt Clements had it 117-111 and Dave Moretti scored it 116-112 for Mayweather.

Mayweather (46-0, 26 KOs), threw half as many punches as Maidana (425 to 858), but landed nine more. Still, the 221 punches Maidana landed against Mayweather were the most in his last 38 fights, according to CompuBox statistics.

Marcos Maidana punches Floyd Mayweather Jr. against the ropes during their fight at MGM Grand.

He didn't endear himself to Maidana when he said that Miguel Cotto hits harder than Maidana, and so does Canelo Alvarez.

Mayweather, who made $32 million for the bout, said he decided to stand and fight against Maidana, but Maidana did not leave him much choice. He came in wildly throwing his signature overhand right early and often and connected against Mayweather, who looked off his game early in the fight.

"I always make the adjustments," he said. "That's the difference between me and every other fighter."

Mayweather said he wanted to give the fans what they came to see, so, "I stood there and fought him."

Maidana (35-4, 31 KOs), was carried around the ring on his trainer's shoulders after the fight ended, believing he had won. The disappointment was etched on his face when ring announcer Jimmy Lennon Jr. announced Mayweather as the winner.

"If I had my gloves, I would've knocked him out," he said. "He never hurt me with a punch. He wasn't even that tough.

"I thought I won the fight. I feel like (the decision) was an injustice."

Maidana, 30, said it should be him that gives Mayweather a rematch, not the other way around, because "I won the fight. I'm not scared of him. Why not give him the rematch."

Mayweather overcame controversy and distractions that surrounded the event through the week leading up. the distractions might have caused the 12-1 odds a week ago to drop to 6-1 for Mayweather at fight time.

A major controversy surrounding the fight was which gloves Maidana would wear. Mayweather and the Nevada Athletic Commission rejected Maidana's original choice of Everlast gloves because they did not have enough padding in the knuckle area. Mayweather also rejected a second pair that the commission OK'd. It was not settled until hours before the opening bell.

Even after the post-fight press conference, both sides were still arguing about the gloves.

After the fight, as fans were leaving the arena, some kind of altercation broke out. The MGM Grand did not immediately release a statement but is expected to on Sunday. A call to the Las Vegas fire department was not immediately returned. ESPN said on Twitter that "apparently there were people injured." The Las Vegas Review-Journal said on Twitter that an eyewitness said people were trampled and a Review-Journal reporter tweeted he saw a man motionless on the ground.

On Thursday, May 1, Floyd Maywather Jr. released an ultrasound photo and blasted former fiancee Shantel Jackson for aborting their twins.

The boxing champion later reached out to TMZ to say he regretted putting the photo out and only did it because he was "devastated" to find out Shantel was now dating his good friend Nelly.

If Money May was ever friends with Nelly, the rapper says he never knew about it. The St. Louis artist cleared the air from his perspective via Instagram and clowned Mayweather in the process.

(Reuters) - At least 42 people were killed in a street battle between supporters and opponents of Russia in southern Ukraine that ended with dozens of pro-Russian protesters incinerated in a burning building, bringing the country closer to war.

Pro-Russian rebels in the east freed seven European military observers on Saturday after holding them hostage for eight days, while Kiev pressed on with its biggest military operation so far to reclaim rebel-held territory in the area.

The riot in the Black Sea port of Odessa, ending in a deadly blaze in a besieged trade union building, was by far the worst incident in Ukraine since a February uprising that ended with a pro-Russian president fleeing the country.

It also spread the violence from the eastern separatist heartland to an area far from the Russian frontier, raising the prospect of unrest sweeping more broadly across a country of around 45 million people the size of France.

The Kremlin, which has massed tens of thousands of soldiers on the Ukraine's eastern border and proclaims the right to invade to protect Russian speakers, said the government in Kiev and its Western backers were responsible for the deaths.

Kiev said the violence was provoked by foreign demonstrators sent in from Transdniestria, a nearby breakaway pro-Russian region of Moldova where Moscow has a military garrison. It said most of the dead who had been identified so far were from there.

On Saturday morning, people placed flowers near the burnt-out doors of the trade union building, lighting candles and putting up the yellow, white and red flag of the city. About 2,000 pro-Russian protesters outside the burnt-out building chanted "Odessa is a Russian city".

The remains of a tented camp of pro-Russian demonstrators nearby had been swept away. At the nearby hospital, residents queued up to offer blood.

Oleg Konstantinov, a journalist covering the events for a local Internet site, said bullets had flown in the melee before the blaze: "I was hit in the arm, then I started crawling, and then got hit in the back and leg."

The Odessa bloodshed came on the same day that Kiev launched its biggest push yet to reassert its control over separatist areas in the east, hundreds of kilometers away, where armed pro-Russian rebels have proclaimed a "People's Republic of Donetsk".

Pro-Russian activists attack policemen guarding the burned trade union building Saturday. The incident is the worst in Ukraine since February.

The rebels there aim to hold a referendum on May 11 on secession from Ukraine, similar to one staged in March in Ukraine's Crimea region, which was seized and annexed by Russia in a move that overturned the post-Cold War diplomatic order.

"NOT STOPPING"

On Saturday the government said it was pressing on with the offensive in the area for a second day, and had recaptured a television tower and a security services building from rebels in Kramatorsk, a town near the rebel stronghold of Slaviansk.

"We are not stopping," Interior Minister Arsen Avakov said in a post on Facebook. "The active phase of the operation continued at dawn."

Rebels in Slaviansk, their most heavily fortified redoubt, shot down two Ukrainian helicopters on Friday, killing two crew, and stalled an advance by Ukrainian troops in armored vehicles. Separatists said three fighters and two civilians were killed in Friday's Ukrainian advance on the town.

Vasyl Krutov, head of a government "anti-terrorist centre" behind the operation in the east, told a news conference there was gunfire and fighting around Kramatorsk: "What we are facing in the Donetsk region and in the eastern regions is not just some kind of short-lived uprising, it is in fact a war."

The military operation in the east was overshadowed by the unprecedented violence in Odessa, a vibrant multi-ethnic port city that has seen some support for separatists but nothing like the riots that erupted on Friday.

Police said four people were killed, at least three shot dead, and dozens wounded in running battles between people backing Kiev and pro-Russian activists. The clashes ended with separatists holed up in the trade union building. Video footage showed petrol bombs exploding against its walls.

At least 37 people died in the blaze. On Saturday, police raised the overall death toll in the city to 42. It was easily the biggest death toll since about 100 people were killed in Kiev protests that toppled pro-Russian President Viktor Yanukovich in February.

"Kiev and its Western sponsors are practically provoking the bloodshed and bear direct responsibility for it," RIA Novosti quoted Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov as telling reporters.

Kiev's Interior Ministry blamed the pro-Russian protesters, saying they had attacked the pro-Ukrainians before retreating to the trade union headquarters, from where they opened fire on the crowd and threw out the petrol bombs that caused the blaze.

Odessa is located in the southwest of Ukraine, far from the eastern areas held by the rebels and far from the Russian frontier where Moscow has amassed forces. But it is close to Moldova's Transdniestria region, where Russia also has troops.

The spread of violence to Odessa expands the zone of unrest across the breadth of southern and eastern Ukraine.

"Today we Ukrainians are constantly being pushed into confrontation, into civil conflict, toward the destruction of our country to its heart. We cannot allow this to happen," said acting President Oleksander Turchinov.

Regional police chief Petro Lutsiuk said on Saturday more than 130 people had been detained and could face charges ranging from participating in riots to premeditated murder.

BIRTHDAY GUESTS

The release of the military monitors from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe resolves a major diplomatic issue for the West.

Axel Schneider, Vacheslav Ponomarev

Moscow said the release showed the "bravery and humanism" of the rebels defending Slaviansk. Western officials, including U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and Germany's Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, hailed the release but said Russia should still do more to help de-escalate the crisis.

0717-Mideast-Jordan-visit-John-Kerry_full_600.jpg

Kerry spoke to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov by telephone. Both sides said they agreed that the OSCE should play a bigger role in helping to reduce tension.

The separatists had captured the monitor team on April 25 and described them as prisoners of war. One Swede was freed earlier on health grounds while four Germans, a Czech, a Dane and a Pole were still being held until Saturday.

The separatist leader in Slaviansk, self-proclaimed "people's mayor" Vyacheslav Ponomaryov, said they were freed along with five Ukrainian captives, with no conditions.

"As I promised them, we celebrated my birthday yesterday and they left. As I said, they were my guests."

The OSCE team's leader, German Colonel Axel Schneider, speaking on the road out of Slaviansk after being freed said: "You can imagine, it's a big relief. The situation was really tough. The last two nights when you see what was going on, every minute gets longer."

Ukraine

He praised his captor Ponomaryov as "a man whose word counts a lot. He's a man who listens".

Western countries blame Russia for stoking the separatism and fear Moscow could be planning to repeat its annexation of Crimea in other parts of Ukraine.

Russia denies it has such plans, while saying it could intervene if necessary to protect Russian speakers, a new doctrine unveiled by President Vladimir Putin in March that overturned decades of post-Soviet diplomacy.

Vladimir_Putin.jpg

The West has made clear it will not use military force to protect Ukraine but will rely on economic sanctions against Moscow to, in the words of U.S. President Barack Obama, change Putin's "calculus".

Barack-Obama-in-Senegal-016.jpg

So far Moscow has shrugged off sanctions, which so far have included measures only against individuals and small companies.

Obama and Merkel said on Friday they would seek tougher measures, including hitting whole sectors of the Russian economy, if Moscow interferes with Ukraine's May 25 vote.

V. Stiviano has been at the center of the Donald Sterling controversy ever since audiotape leaked of a conversation she had with the L.A. Clippers owner, while he espoused racist views.

Sterling has since been banned from the NBA and is being pressured to sell his team.

Other than being seen out in public wearing a face visor, Stiviano has kept a low profile until her interview with Barbara Walters on Friday, May 2.

12350791060?profile=original

Is the married 80-year old business mogul her sugar daddy? Is she a well paid call girl? Did she leak the tape? These are questions many people want answers to. Stiviano provided answers to some of them.

"I'm his confidant, his best friend, his silly rabbit," she told Barbara. "Our relationship stared off me working for Mr. Sterling - his non-profit organization. The Donald T. Sterling Foundation, and it evolved to so much more. On a level which has become a big scandal. How and why doesn't even matter any more, it's here. And some things needed to be brought to the light."

12350791461?profile=original

Stiviano says despite what is heard on the tapes Sterling is not a racist.

"I think the things he says are not what he feels. Anyone can say anything in the heat of the moment," she continued. “I think Mr. Sterling is from a different generation than I am. I think he was brought up to believe these things … segregation, whites and blacks. But through his actions he’s shown that he’s not a racist. He’s shown to be a very generous and kind man.”

The 31-year old admits to taping the conversations, but claims that they were leaked by a friend. Stiviano thinks Sterling should apologize for his comments, however she's not sure if he will.

"Only God knows," she said.

She insists the two have never had a sexual relationship. Prior to her conversation with Walters, Stiviano had just left a meeting with Sterling.

"I think he’s highly more traumatized and hurt by the things that he said himself. I think he can’t even believe or understand sometimes the thing he says, and I think he’s hurt by it. He’s hurting right now."

Columbus Short's name has been dragged through the mud by his estranged wife, Toure Tanee McCall.

The actor has been fired from his role on the television show Scandal because of arrests for domestic abuse and accusations he threatened to kill Toure.

12350789484?profile=original

Short is defending himself by releasing a video of Toure fighting his friend, Tilly Key. The tape was shot on February 19, the day after the actor was let out of jail for a domestic violence incident.

Short asked Key to pick him up from his house. When Toure saw her inside the home she allegedly attacked.

Key claims to have suffered a concussion, a cervical sprain, multiple contusions, a lumbar sprain and lumbar strain. She wanted TMZ to releases the video to show how dangerous Toure can be. Key also claims her life was threatened.

Toure has filed for divorce from Short and has a protective order against him. Police recently helped escort him from the home he shared with Toure, as part of the restraining order.
