The fallout surrounding Trinidad James' comments about Atlanta running New York musically continues. As we previously reported, Maino responded to the comments by letting James know he wasn't going to let them slide. This morning the Brooklyn, New York emcee called into Hot 97 to explain his point of view and demanded an apology from Trinidad and said he needed to be disciplined.

"He's gotta apologize to New York City," Maino said. "He's gotta apologize to my city. He's gotta apologize to Brooklyn. He's got to apologize to Harlem. Because he offended us, disrespected us in our city. People paid you to come here. They didn't pay you to disrespect them."

Video After The Jump

STAR talks Trinidad James dissing NY Hip-Hop, Jenna Jameson getting back into adult films, Azealia Banks digging herself into a hole and Peter Gunz looking real crazy on Love & Hip-Hop.

Radio legend Troi Torain (STAR) always delivers hard-hitting objective truth. As a culture critic he is vicious, as a businessman he is relentless, as a luminary he is un-matched.

12349990084?profile=original

Considered a radio pioneer by many, STAR has set precedents on the urban landscape and was recently inducted into News One's "Top 20 Black Radio Jockeys Of All Time."

STAR & BUC WILD made the national stage on MTV (1999) but it was their radio show on New York's Hot 97 and Power 105 (2000 - 2006) that secured their place in Hip-Hop history.

Torain's resume includes The Source magazine, MTV Networks, Hot 97, Power 104.1, Power 105.1, Pulse 87, Hip-Hop Weekly magazine, Vladtv, Thisis50, 100.3 The Beat, shot97.com and VH1 (The Gossip Game).

This clip is from STAR's LIVE show (12noon -- 2pm) on http://shot97.com.

Video After The Jump

Today was a memorable one for MTV RapFix Live. Not only did they have DJ Red Alert, A$AP Rocky, Vic Mensa and Bun B in the studio, but somehow Sway convinced the three MC's to hop into a cypher that went on past the end of the show while Red Alert held it down on the turntables.

And just like that the backlash against Trinidad James has started. As we previously reported, James told a New York City crowd at his concert Tuesday (November 12) that Atlanta runs New York musically.

Within hours of the story breaking Brooklyn, New York emcee Maino got at Trinidad on Twitter.

"S/O to all the NY niggas who let this Rotten Teeth n*gga @TrinidadJamesGG disrespect us lastnite! Somebody wake @TAXSTONE up tell'em this nasty mouth nigga @TrinidadJamesGG is on the menu," Maino wrote. "After we clean this guy up I'm straighten a few of u NY niggas out for being the Vaginas that u R!"

12350463665?profile=original

12349774463?profile=original

James didn't back down. He got on his Twitter account and continued to express his opinion.

12350463872?profile=original

"Maino wanna shoot me for saying the truth then shoot on. I ain’t backtracking sh*t," James responded. "Ny consumers are a disgrace to their own culture. I don’t ever have to make it on the radio ever. F*ck the radio. I’ll die a real n*gga. I speak the truth….and the TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE….#CrazyDeacon #BlackBatman…coming soon. You gonna wanna hear this. Ima die with a Trini Flag in the Air… “WHEN I DIE BURY ME IN A CARNIVAL”!!!"

12350464466?profile=original

12350464871?profile=original

Harlem, New York rapper Smoke DZA was also heated. He and James exchanged words on the social networking site

12350465278?profile=original

"@smokedza if you the real n*gga that I know you to be then you can hit my line and stop listening to these f*ck n*ggas in yo city. U Kno Me," Trinidad wrote.

I have a feeling this is only the beginning.

Video After The Jump

Kendrick Lamar is one of GQ's 2013 Men of the Year and also the Rapper of the Year, according to the publication.

K. Dot spit an exclusive freestyle for the magazine, talks with Steve Marsh about the four rappers that influenced his career and is photographed by Sebastian Kim.

12350450300?profile=original

Tupac Shakur

"Tupac could've been everything for the urban community, for the ghetto. I believe personally that he was the man to do it. I mean it's not nothing that happens overnight. It happens the more a person grows, the more the community grows, the more confident we could get in each other. I think Pac coulda did that. Not to say that that time won't come back again for someone else."

12350450901?profile=original

Dr. Dre
"Women's a weakness that men have. Period. Period. So this is what I'm gonna do. Rather then, in the early stages of west coast gangster rap, rather than just calling them bitches and hoes and they ain't shit. I'm gonna talk about why this particular woman is a bitch, is a hoe, and she ain't shit. Rather than just saying it off the top. I'm gonna tell you why. Why? Because she had no respect for me. Why? Because she wanna cause me and my brothers to come into conflict. Why? Because she's out for the money and really don't give a fuck. You know, and that's the reason now. Now you know where this vulgar language comes from with NWA, with Dre. I'm gonna give you the backstory behind that."

12350450698?profile=original

Snoop Dogg
"With the whole 'Control' verse, like, I knew it would bring an element of hip hop that hasn't been there in a little while. But how much people put the hype on it? That's the only thing that threw me off. Damn, you all attracted to it this much, but this ain't nothing no different from what I grew up listening to, from Snoop. So it's not new to me. I thought it wouldn't be that much new to you guys too. But I see that it really is a whole 'nother generation and demographic out there that's listening. A whole 'nother mainstream that's not too familiar. You feel me?"

12350451501?profile=original

Mobb Deep
"We had this garage in Dave Free's mother's house, we just had ProTools, a mic, and a quilt hanging over the mic. It would be late night when we would go to his mom's house. Probably wouldn't come out the garage until like 4 am, then wake up and go to school the next morning. We started recording this mix tape, called Youngest Head Nigga In Charge, YHNIC, and I was a big Prodigy fan at the time. So I was really biting his style."
