Looks like T.I. really wants to be the King Of The South as he looks to expand his audience with a new collaboration..
The hip hop titan has linked with Kid Rock and country star Martina McBride for a new track titled "Care" that will appear on Kid Rock's new album.
McBride talked to Billboard about the odd collaboration:
"I just recorded a song with Kid Rock for his new album. It seems like an odd pairing, but I love that he sees the real redneck in me," McBride said. "There's a rapper called T.I. who raps the third verse. Kid Rock sings the first verse, I sing the second verse and T.I. raps the third verse. Crazy, but it's really uplifting and it's a cool melody and it feels good. It makes sense. If I was rapping the third verse, that would not make sense."
Kid Rock, who has been working with legendary producer Rick Rubin for this album is excited about the project.
"It’s a game changer for me. Totally different process working with Rick Rubin. With this album we were working around playing, singing live, no click tracks. Kinda of a crazy concept these days. But it’s the way real records are made," he told Entertainment Weekly.
Kid Rock's new album 'Born Free' is due out in September
