The drugs were hidden inside several acrylic cats with a shipment address for a location in New York City according to the New York Daily News.
Investigators became suspicious of the 205 pound shipment from Thailand. X-Rays revealed plastic wrapped packages that turned out to be opium.
So far, no arrests have been made, but Robert Perez of the U.S. Customs and Border Patrols said the January 21 bust shows they are on top of things.
"This interception illustrates CBP's ability to utilize the right mix of intelligence, technology, and officer expertise," he said.
