Video After The Jump

Hip hop fans and other artists in the business don't know what to make of Slim Jesus. The 18-year old Hamilton, Ohio native became a sensation almost overnight with his music video for "Drill Time."

The video is filled with Chicago Drill music influences. From the guns being flashed, to the gangster lyrics Slim is spitting.

In a new interview with VladTV, Slim acknowledged that he doesn't actually live the life he raps about and said the guns in the video were props.

The fledgling rapper deserves respect for being honest, but there are a lot of rappers who actually live that lifestyle that will probably test him.

During an episode of Complex's Well Rounded, The Game offered his opinion.

"I think that Slim Jesus either really better be fucking kidding or he's gonna get his ass smoked," Game said. "I worry about kids these days rapping about stuff that they're really not about. It's cool...it's dope. I saw Slim Jesus and I thought it was cool. I thought it was dope. I was like, 'Shit, there's a white boy with fucking guns and he's ready to kill shit.' Then I saw the [Vlad TV interview] and he was like, 'I don't really do this.' It's too late. And you got people that are really doing that, that are offended."

Should SJ put down the guns and be himself? Or do you consider it all to just be entertainment?
