As we have seen from recent news reports, Haiti is in more need of help today than they were even yesterday. Aftershocks, water shortages, crumbling buildings, low medical supplies and millions of people in need of a safe roof over their heads because in Wyclef Jean's own words "Port-au-Prince is a morgue".
So many wonderful artists, along with American citizens and the U.S. Government are doing everything they can to help by donating their time, clothing, food and money to get the necessary supplies to the people of Haiti as soon as possible.
Oprah Winfrey is stepping up big time today (Wednesday January 20) by hosting a special show featuring Maxwell and Rihanna. Both singers will perform songs they have recorded benefitting Haiti.
Rihanna will perform her version of Bob Marley's "Redemption Song" which is currently available for sale on iTunes, RihannaNow.com and Oprah.com. All proceeds — including artist, label and publishing net proceeds — will directly benefit organizations spearheading relief efforts in Haiti, including the Red Cross, UNICEF, Oxfam America and Partners in Health.
MTV reports Maxwell's song "Fistful Of Tears" is also available for a limited time. Both cost only $1.29
