There has been some head shaking at some of the rappers on MTV's Hottest MC's in the Game list. Not only have fans questioned some of the placements. but artists A$AP Rocky and Kanye West weren't happy with their spots.

 

However, the choice for the No. 4 spot will probably get a lot of approval from just about everyone.

 

Nas was snubbed at this years Grammys, but maybe being recognized at the No. 4 hottest emcee in the game will ease the sting of being overlooked by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences yet again.

In 2012 Nas released his eleventh studio album, Life Is Good. The album made it's debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart by selling 149,000 copies in its first week.

The record received four Grammy nominations and produced the singles "Daughters" and "Bye Baby."

Esco also found time to record a couple of features last year. He appeared on Nicki Minaj's "Champion" and Rick Ross' "Triple Beam Dreams."

Coming in at No. 3 on the list is Rick Ross. The Miami rapper released his fifth solo album in 2012, God Forgives, I Don't. The project debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, selling selling 218,000 copies it's first week in stores.The project produced 3 singles, most notably "Diced Pineapples" and received a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Album.

In addition to dropping an album, Ross released two mixtapes last year, Rich Forever and The Black Bar Mitzvah.

Ross also made several guest appearances on records by Usher ("Lemme See"), French Montana ("Pop That") and Ace Hood's "Bugatti."
