Papoose has never been afraid to speak his mind. The Brooklyn, New York emcee believes strongly in his lyrical ability and he refuses to take a backseat to any rapper, including fellow Brooklynite, Jay Z.
“Nobody is better than me — Jay-Z, nobody,” Pap told the New York Daily News. “None are more lyrically inclined than me. None of them. I’m definitely the king of New York. I am the greatest out of New York. When I look in the mirror, I don’t see Jay Z — I see Papoose. More power to him, but he’s not better than me. My pen game is the most immaculate. I bring the most to the table on every level, concept, substance.”
Pap is anxiously waiting for his wife, Remy Ma, to be released from prison on July 31. A day he understandably says will be "very special" for him.
In the meantime he plans to continue putting out new music.
“I’m going to release a body of music every month. I don’t feel like there’s no artist out there doing that," he added.
Since the subject is on the table we've gotta ask, who do you think is the king of New York City hip hop?
