Veteran emcee N.O.R.E. recently changed his name to P.A.P.I. He called into Shade 45 to chop it up with Money Nels, Jenny Boom Boom and J. Medina about why he chose the new moniker.
The CNN rapper explained that he's had the nickname for a long time dating back to his days dealing drugs on the block. In an upcoming movie that he's writing and producing titled Superthug, his name is Papi, so he decided the timing was right to also use that as his rap name.
P.A.P.I. also clears the air for people who think he stole the name from Bodega Bamz and says Drake shouldn't be referring to himself as Champagne Papi.
