Video After The Jump
In the wake of a grand jury declining to indict Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson for the shooting death of unarmed 18-year old Michael Brown, many citizens took to the streets to protest.
One person spotted in the crowd was Grammy Award-winning rapper Macklemore.
When approached by a KING 5 cameraman Macklemore deflected attention from himself, choosing instead to focus on Brown.
"Solidarity, it's not about me... it's about Mike Brown," he said.
It's the same message he echoed to his 2.5 million Twitter followers.
Hopefully the fallout from the grand jury's decision and subsequent protests will bring people of all nationalities together. Tragedies like the Eric Ferguson and Mike Brown murders at the hands of the people who are supposed to be protecting us affects everyone.
