 Video After The Jump

An investigation is underway after actor Gene Hackman, 95, and his wife, Betsy Arakawa, 64, were mysteriously found dead alongside a dog in their Santa Fe, New Mexico, home, authorities said.

The couple was found Wednesday afternoon during a welfare check after their neighbor called and was concerned about their well-being, according to the Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office.

There were no obvious signs of death. Their deaths were "suspicious enough in nature to require a thorough search and investigation" due to all of the "circumstances surrounding" the scene, according to the search warrant affidavit.

The Academy Award-winning actor was found on the floor in the mud room, according to the search warrant. It appeared he fell suddenly, and he and his wife "showed obvious signs of death," the document said.

Arakawa was found lying on her side on the floor in a bathroom, with a space heater near her body, according to the search warrant.

Her body showed signs of decomposition, the document said. There was mummification to her hands and feet, the document said.

On the counter near Arakawa was an opened prescription bottle, with pills scattered, according to the search warrant.

A German shepherd was found dead about 10 to 15 feet from Arakawa, the document said.

But two other dogs were found alive. One healthy dog was near Arakawa and the other was located outside, according to the search warrant.

kman was a five-time Oscar nominee who won for “The French Connection” in 1972 and “Unforgiven” two decades later. His death comes just four days before this year’s ceremony

When you mix raw energy, deep emotion, and an unfiltered approach to hip-hop, you get Tunngtyed—a rap duo that’s bringing something fresh to the game. Comprised of Tha Baztad and G-Blunt, this Michigan-and-Philly-based team has been making waves since forming in mid-2023, feeding off each other’s energy to create a sound they call "Visceral Rap."

So, what exactly is Visceral Rap? According to Tunngtyed, it’s a fusion of horrorcore, hardcore, and conscious rap—a style that pulls from the depths of raw emotion and inner thought. Their music isn’t just about beats and bars; it’s an experience designed to make you feel something real.

Their debut single, “WATCH OUT!!!”, just dropped last week, introducing listeners to their dark, aggressive, and thought-provoking style. And they’re just getting started. Right now, they’re cooking up multiple projects, including solo albums, a group album, a mixtape, and even the score and soundtrack for an upcoming indie horror film. It’s clear that Tunngtyed isn’t just making music—they’re crafting an entire universe.

While they’re currently independent under their own label and have no plans to sign with anyone, they’re building a movement with the support of family, friends, and a growing fanbase. They’ve got collaborations lined up for future albums and dream of working with Alchemist, a producer known for crafting gritty, soulful beats that would fit perfectly with their sound.

As for live performances, they’ve rocked crowds of over 60 people and are looking to take their music worldwide, with New Zealand as a dream destination for a future performance. Touring is definitely in the plans, but when they hit the road, they want to bring along all the artists they collaborate with, making it a true movement.

In five years, Tunngtyed envisions themselves performing, selling merch, and even making a movie—expanding their artistry beyond music. With their unique approach, relentless work ethic, and boundary-pushing creativity, there’s no doubt that they’re on a path to making a serious impact.

Check out their new single, "WATCH OUT!!!"

NEW YORK (AP) — Voletta Wallace, the dedicated mother of the late great rapper The Notorious B.I.G. and protector of his legacy, died Friday morning. She was 78.

Monroe County Coroner Thomas Yanac confirmed her death Friday to The Associated Press, saying she died at her home in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, after a stint on hospice care. She died of natural causes.

A representative for the estate of The Notorious B.I.G. did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The Notorious B.I.G., one of the rap’s greatest performers, was shot to death at age 24 in Los Angeles in 1997. The case remains unsolved. He was survived by his wife, the musician and actress Faith Evans, and his two children, Christopher Jordan Wallace and T’yanna Dream Wallace.

Wallace was a dedicated keeper of the legacy of her son, born Christopher Wallace. When he first emerged on the scene as one of rap’s most distinctive talents with songs that expertly detailed street life in Brooklyn, she labeled his music “noise.”

Since his death, his gift took on a new meaning for her. She told AP in 2017, 20 years after his death, “I remembered my son said, ‘Don’t listen to my music.’ And I never listened to his music. I heard it on the radio and it sounded good, because it was clean. But I said, ‘You know what, I have to. I have to listen to that music.’

And that’s what I did.”

“I cried so much that day just listening to the music. I remember I sat, I stood. I rested my head on the stereo and I just cried like a baby. And that was therapy for me. And I said, ‘Oh my God — that was a talented young man to put those words together.’ He had a beautiful voice. I love his voice,” she continued.

Wallace launched the Christopher Wallace Memorial Foundation following her son’s death, an organization that provides educational resources for children. In 2003, she honored mothers of other musicians who died untimely deaths — Aaliyah, Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, Tupac Shakur, Jam Master Jay, Big Pun, Big L and Freaky Tah — at “B.I.G. Night Out,” a benefit for the foundation.

“It is our way of saying, ‘Keep your head up,”’ Wallace told AP at the time. “It’s the foundation’s way just to let these parents know that we love them.”

She also took legal action on behalf of her son. In 2004, she dropped a wrongful-death lawsuit against a former suspect in the rap star’s slaying — Amir Muhammad, aka Harry Billups. The 2002 lawsuit also named the city of Los Angeles and Muhammad’s former college roommate, David A. Mack, a Los Angeles policeman. It accused Mack of hiring Muhammad to shoot the hip-hop artist and police of failing to investigate properly after a fellow officer came under

suspicion.

In 2021, Wallace worked as an executive producer on the Netflix documentary “Biggie: I Got a Story to Tell,” and told AP about her role in the public eye.

“They never knew me. The public never knew me. I was thrust into this environment, I should say, after he passed away, because I’m a very private person. Extremely private,” she said. “What he was doing out there, maybe I should have known. But honestly, I didn’t. And to this day, there are people who are saying, ‘Oh, she knew.’ (whispers) But I never knew.”

Notorious B.I.G.'s 1994 debut album for Bad Boy Records, “Ready to Die,” has sold over six million units as of 2018, according to the Recording Industry Association of America, and included the hits “Big Poppa” and “Juicy.”

His sophomore album, “Life After Death,” released two weeks after his death, sold more than 11 million units. It launched multiple hits, including the timeless No. 1 hits “Mo Money Mo Problems” and “Hypnotize.” In 1997, Wallace accepted the MTV Video Music Award for best rap video for “Hypnotize” on behalf of her son. ___

Video After The Jump

LOS ANGELES (AP)— A$AP Rocky dove into the arms of Rihanna Tuesday as a clerk read the not guilty verdict at his trial on 2 felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm.

The Los Angeles courtroom, full of fans of the hip-hop performer and his singing superstar partner, exploded into screaming glee as Rocky leapt from the defense table into the gallery, where Rihanna sat between his mother and sister. They embraced and sobbed.

After a three-week trial, the jury deliberated for just three hours to reach the verdict that spared Rocky, whose legal name is Rakim Mayers, a prison sentence that could have run more than two decades.

“Thank y’all for saving my life,” he told the jurors as they left.

Amid the chaos, it took the clerk a while to read the second not guilty verdict, though it was very unlikely the jury would split on the counts.

“Mr. Mayers, you’re excused,” Judge Mark Arnold said.

On the eve of trial, Rocky turned down a prosecution offer of just six months in jail, along with probation and other conditions, if he would plead guilty to one count.

Insisting on his innocence, Rocky decided to gamble that a jury would feel the same. It paid off. The jurors felt at least that there was reasonable doubt of his guilt.

Prosecutors and their witnesses said that he was beefing with a former friend, A$AP Relli, with whom he had been in a crew who called themselves the A$AP Mob since high school. They said the two men met up in Hollywood on Nov. 6, 2021, and after a scuffle Rocky pulled the gun and fired twice at Relli, who said one of the shots grazed his knuckle but was not seriously hurt.

Rocky’s lawyer Joe Tacopina said in his closing argument that Relli is “an angry pathological liar” who “committed perjury again and again and again and again.”
