Actor Mickey Rourke may be one of the stars of the new blockbuster movie 'Iron Man 2', just don't ask him what the movie is about because he has no idea.
In an interview with UK's Daily Star, Mickey, who's become a hot commodity in Hollywood again after his role in The Wrestler explained his philosophy.......kind of.
“I read my character. I didn’t read a lot of the other stuff too clearly. I have no idea what’s in the movie or what it’s about, to be honest with you.”
He added: “I kind of don’t want to know what’s going on. It’s like in life. I like to leave a little room open for the unexpected.”
In the movie Rourke plays Tony Starks nemesis Whiplash. He had to go through grueling training to prepare for the role.
“We got on a treadmill, put it on an incline, with a 40lb vest and then did that for a half-hour, going uphill.
“I got in shape to wear the vest, because it was leather and metal and quite heavy.”
The Paramount movie varied from the norm by opening internationally before debuting in the U.S. It had a stong start pulling in $100.2 million in 53 foreign markets over the weekend.
It opens in this Friday, May 7 here in the states.
