Nicki Minaj has pulled off a rare feat as her 'Pink Friday' album rises to number 1 on the charts 3 months after it's release with 45,000 units sold.
The album originally made it's debut at number 2 behind Kanye West's 'My Beautiful Dark Fantasy', but it's proven to have legs and could make more history. The single "Moment For Life" is set to take over the number 1 spot on Billboard's rap chart today.
Billboard reports that the last album to make such a climb was Ray Charles' "Genius Loves Company", which finally hit No. 1 in its 25th week.
Nicki tweeted the good news to her fans yesterday.
Part of the recent surge could be due to casual fans who saw Taylor Swift rapping Minaj's "Super Bass" lyrics at a radio station.
Whatever the reason for the climb, Nicki deserves credit. She looks to be on her way to superstardom
So far 'Pink Friday' has sold 1,035,000 copies.
