Video After The Jump

"Everyone is essentially a video reporter" these days, according to Vlad. During his talk with the culturally-aware emcee Immortal Technique, the two discussed how social media has taken citizens' awareness of national problems to new heights. What some people fail to realize, however, is that issues like police brutality have been going on for over half a century, and that it's not something that just began when technology became more advanced.

"Before, there used to be a guy in a blue shirt and black pants with a billy club and a revolver," says Immortal Technique, who feels police have become more militarized. "Now you got a guy in full tactical uniform who looks like a NAVY Seal who's pointing an automatic weapon at you." He even compares the European "colonization" of America to the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham, commonly referred to as the ISIS terror group.

Recently, Immortal Technique got into a heated debate with a "Youtube scholar" about how ISIS shares similarities with the Europeans from that time. The scholar referred to the militant group as "un-American," though Immortal Technique provided enough reason as to why ISIS may just be exactly like the early North American settlers.

In this clip, the "Dance With the Devil" artist gives us another look at the disturbing realities of America's society (past and present), advantages that certain citizens have in this day and age, and why in the end, America's claim of being a "free society" may not be all that accurate.
