WEST HOLLYWOOD -- Four people were arrested late Friday for being drunk and disorderly outside the House of Blues during a performance by gangsta rap pioneer Ice Cube, police said. The incident happened around 11 p.m. at the House of Blues on the Sunset Strip. Authorities said the four suspects were intoxicated. "Some people had too much to drink, and deputies took two of them into custody," said Sgt. Dave Valentine of the sheriff's West Hollywood station. "One or two others tried to get involved and got in a scrap with the deputies." At least one of the four was booked on suspicion of battery on a peace officer, Valentine said. No one was hurt, and the incident didn't affect the concert. Last year, a brawl inside and outside the venue involving more than 100 people shut down the Strip for almost an entire evening, but there has not been such a major incident since then. Ice Cube's real name is O'Shea Jackson. The 39-year-old rap artist and actor first gained notoriety as a member of the controversial group N.W.A., who gained international fame for their portrayal of South Los Angeles street life in the 1988 release of "Straight Outta Compton."
