David "Chilli Bean" Morgan, the father of Houston Texans linebacker Jadaveon Clowney is sitting in a Rock Hill, South Carolina jail cell on charges of attempted murder.
According to The Herald, got into a shootout outside of a gentlemen's club. Morgan had been kicked out of the club Tuesday morning, August 4, for sitting on the stage.
At around 2:15 a.m., an employee of the Crazy Horse Showclub saw him standing against a wall near the back of the property.

Morgan then allegedly started shooting. According to police, the victim returned fire, hitting Morgan in the shoulder. Police caught up with him at Piedmont Medical Center where he was being treated for his wound. He was arrested and charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. He's due court for a bond hearing at 8 a.m Wednesday.
Clowney was the number one overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft by the Texans. The Herald reports that he is "highly upset."
His father could be facing 30 years in prison for the attempted murder charge, plus an additional 5 years for the weapons violation.
This isn't Morgan's first run-in with the law. His criminal record dates back to 1987. In 1995 he was sentenced to 15 years in prison after convictions for burglary and other crimes.
