We're very sad to report that Gangxta Ridd, born Paul Devoux, of the West Coast rap collective Boo-Yaa T.R.I.B.E. has died from coronavirus.
Ice-T shared the sad news via his Twitter account on Saturday, December 5.
"I just woke up to the Terrible news. My very close homie ‘Gangsta Rid’ of Boo-Yaa Tribe passed away yesterday from Covid," Ice wrote. "So sad. My love and condolences go out to the family."
Boo-Yaa T.R.I.B.E. were formed in the 80's by the American Samoan Devoux brothers. Hailing from Carson, California, group members Gawtti, Kobra, Monsta O, Murder One, E.K.A., Godfather and Ridd have definitely put their stamp on the hip hop game.
Covid-19 continues to wreak havoc across the U.S. in 2020. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 277,825 have died from the virus since January 21, 2020. A total of 14,255,535 people have been infected.
