After 15 years in the National Basketball Association, Tracy McGrady is pursuing his dream of playing professional baseball.
The 34-year old has received a formal invite to camp from the Sugar Land Skeeters of the independent Atlantic League.
"We're intrigued by the progress Tracy has made thus far and really commend him for putting in the work," Skeeters manager, Gary Gaetti, told the Associated Press.
The 6' 8", 220 lbs McGrady would be an imposing figure to batters if he makes the team. His fastball consistently clocks in around 85 mph, which isn't mind blowing, but that should get better the more he plays. The big question is whether or not he can develop an effective change-up and one other pitch. He played baseball from the age of 5 to his senior year in high school.
Do you think T-Mac can make a successful transition to to baseball?
