Former Major League baseball player Darryl Hamilton has been killed in an apparent murder/suicide inside a home near Houston
The Houston Chronicle reports that Hamilton, 50, was found dead at 4:45 p.m. by police responding to a 911 call in Pearland. He had been shot multiple times.
Monica Jordan, 44, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The couple's 13-month old son was found unharmed. He has been released to Child Protective Services. Jordan also had two children from a previous marriage.
"It's terrible, terrible. Now there are three kids without a mother," neighbor Memman Sam told Fox 26 News. "I don't know how a human being can do this kind of thing to each other."
Hamilton played 13 seasons in the big leagues for several teams including the San Francisco Giants, Colorado Rockies, New York Mets, Milwaukee Brewers and Texas Rangers.
He was most recently an analyst with the MLB Network.
Many in the baseball community are mourning his loss.
